Another disappointing performance from Joe Root whose average is a mere 164 !!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Plus taking over Plunkett's bowling, usual reliable catching, takes all sorts of knocks and gets right back in there. He is also one thing that the Australians are not necessarily, a sportsman. The World cup coming up will be an exciting prospect.

Some might say that Buttler should have had more serious consideration as a test batsman.....he's not on the tour to NZ...maybe he should be...maybe he's just seen and considered for the short formats now. Personally I think England may consider having Bairstow as an opener and Foakes will become England's long term wicketkeeper.

But it's the amount of poor sportsmanship that creates reputations....and the Australians aren't looking pretty on that list. Edited by Stirlingsays (23 Jan 2018 7.29am)

Stuart Broad anyone? Let's not throw stones ay... While I respect Gilchrist for walking, I'm partisan enough to say that I was very amused when Broad didn't walk. If you believe that it's for the umpire to give you out, or not, fair enough.

Personally, Broad should have walked for such an obvious nick.......I prefer the spirit of the game for Cricket, it has a tradition. What Collingwood did was worse.....defeat is better than tainted victory....it isn't a war.

The worst one for me is the mankad, after the infamous and since banned pea-roller that is.
