it turns out the grass isnt always greener on the other side.

its obvious to see that the players dont like or want to play for sam.

Time for players who actually put out 100% to get a some starts, the Korean namely. He might not be top quality but at least he puts in the work, had a nice pick out to Remy late.

Wouldn't mind seeing us switch to a 4-4-2 to get someone up along Benteke to get him involved more and get Hennessy out his charge on Dantonio was awful.

Speroni

Ward - Dann - Delaney - Schlupp

Townsend - Cabaye - Macarthur - Lee

Remy - Benteke

Pardew has utterly wrecked this team and it stands in his image of something that looks flashy but underneath has a rotting undercurrent,

The marginalisation of the leaders of the team - Speroni, Jedi, Murray et al and removing those characters from not just the field but the dressing room as well,

Blowing smoke up Cabaye's backside - telling players that once they play like him they can have his wages - well Christ I think there will be a few knocking on Parish's door. Then there was the comment "I can't believe we got Andros Townsend" - I'm with you on that one Alan, I can't believe it either.

The "we will play more expansive, clean sheets aren't important" approach, well guess what I've decided to operate a faster speed approach to driving. Means I'll get there quicker, but probably lose my licence.

This is a team that looks exactly what it is, a fake, overpaid, overly smug bunch of individuals with one or two redeeming features. You cannot polish a turd once a turd has happened but lord knows the turd that was slowly developed under Pardew was rolled in copious amounts of glitter under the heading of expansive football.

I actually feel sorry for Big Sam, he is left holding the baby on this one, after Pardew gets his pay off and will go somewhere else and wreck another club.

He has to try and build a team of solidarity when his predecessor made it clear that certain players were worth more than others.

Totally agree, Pardew ripped the heart out of this team I can only presume the only reason people can't see this is because they don't want to admit the criticism from Newcastle fans was totally spot on.

And Pardew wasn't hounded out of his job, he put himself out of it, he was given plenty of time to turn things around, far more time than he deserved, which just gave him more chances to bugger us up.

Thankfully Hull, who seem to be the ones who are fighting hardest to overtake us, have Chelsea away next, then Man Utd, Liverpool, Arsenal & then Burnley who aren't doing badly. If we don't take advantage of that in our next 5 games: Everton, Sunderland & Middlesborough at home, with Bournemouth & Stoke away then that is a crisis.
With so many games to go it's far from over and I hope we don't turn on each other on this site.

Disagree mate. We were outplayed often under Pardew. Especially towards the end.

I said it when he was appointed and I say it again now "be careful who you wish" This was our heaviest defeat all season keep playng Ward as a left back when you just spent 12.5M on a left back. Allaydyce has done nothing and Parrish has a lot to answer for blind panic to stop Allaydyce going to Swansea.God help us because I can see no way out of this shambles !!

Probably because he's telling them they're rubbish and need to sort it out.

After an encouraging 1st. half it all fell apart in the 2nd. Sound familiar! What did we learn - Tomkins is not a fullback, Puncheon and Ward are just not up to it but I guess most of us knew that.
Why wasn't Schlupp in the starting lineup, he can play at left back! Would it be a crime if we played Remy and Benteke up front - together? I would take the captaincy off Dann too, his form has plummeted since Pardew gave it to him, give it to MacArthur.
I don't blame SA, I know he's trying to instill some spine in this team, and he has a massive job ahead if we are to avoid going down. Unfortunately he has inherited a squad with no confidence, no mental toughness and questionable talent.

This team are not rubbish but they are in turmoil and devoid of confidence, How can the years trend be turned around in five games, the focus has gone back to defence after AP's undoing of this strength in the team, at least there are 17 games, if we turn on the team there is no chance and lets face it we have been led up the grandiose garden path of believing AP's talk. I am not giving up yet and hopefully the attitude and frustration expressed on this board will be less evident at our next game at home.

I didn't see it like that. I know we had our problems but thought the players were at least trying, stupid mistakes aside, and making opponents earn their points unlike now.
