The guy is an International keeper, not a young kid. The way about him is the consistency he picks the ball out of the back of the net. I don't see that he is any better than Hennessy, he hasn't made a decent save yet. Not sure what his strengths are not a particularly good shot stopper and doesn't seem to command his area. I think most on here are dazzled as he is French, why was his value £1.5m? you obviously don't see alot of Palace games then

The reason he's letting in goals is because our defence gas been awful, particularly without dann and soare.

I'll give you the first as the kick was awful but to argue that he did not dive is a tad harsh. He was never going to get near the first and it was also deflected away from him. He did dive for the second and that was also deflected. The third was just too powerful and came through a mass of bodies as well. He made no move to try and save the Everton or W Ham goals either. Surely you want a keeper who is going to at least make some effort? The other goals he's conceded such as Bournemouth, 'Boro and Sunderland were all potentially stoppable. Perhaps if we stopped the stupid 'Steeeve' chant and let him get on with keeping out goals we might see an improvemement?

Mañana didn't win Lique Un GK of the year for a s***e Marseille side for no reason. Regardless, he's definitely an improvement compared to Hennessey - at least I don't have to get ready to fume when a decent shot/cross comes at him.

Maybe the pace of the Premier is a surprise to him, the standard is definitely higher than he is used too. I see other keepers playing for other teams and he doesn't seem of the same standard i.e. Heaton, Foster, Pickford, Boruc.

I seem to remember him pulling off a couple of fantastic saves against everton, that even the mom guys said we're world class. I think he's excellent with one on ones and saved us a number of times. Also good at coming fir high balls in the area. Every keepers going to make mistakes, I'm sure I could find some from the keepers you mention. But do feel he's a very good goalkeeper.

I think its fair to say the spotlight will be on him for the next few games. We are all entitled to an off day and whether you like it or not his performance on Saturday was questionable at times.Dann returning will be a massive help of course but it was his positioning and reflexes that looked a bit suspect and they are individual issues.I hope it was just a blip as I like him and what he brings to the team, time will tell however.
