I love the way people are already writing off box park when it hasn't even opened. I think it's a positive move for Croydon in what would otherwise be a worringly bleak high street.

Areas that have been regenerated, rejuvenated, or gentrified are the equivalent of people who win "the most improved player" award at the end of season party. All it means is they are slightly less s*** than one were, but still dreadful. Anyone getting excited over boxpark, or shopping centres and the like should seriously revaluate what makes a place good. Iceland = bad.

WTF is a BoxPark? Is it like a fox hat? Whenever I tell anyone I'from Bromley they tell me to "wear a fox hat". A new fancy place where they sell new fancy food from all around the world; it's opening next to East Croydon station. Originally posted by paperhat

It's worked in other parts of London to be fair, and it's better than putting another chicken shop and/or Spoons, surely? Slag it off, but it's a lot better than that, which would, as you say, certainly attract the 'yoots' and the 'homeless.'

Why would I travel to Croydon to do that every week when I do that in Wallington already? I hate hipsters as much as the next person, but to call it all pretentious is a bit of a stretch when it diversifies what you can do...
