We had some good moments today, and i am happy to take the three points. The highlight of the game has to be AP making effective substitutions, but i wonder if we had lost 2-1, how we would have questioned the Zeki sub.

Defensively bad today, their second goal, Kelly gone missing, Townsend standing on edge of box watching unmarked players in front of him.

But like someone said before, who leaves a man like Benteke all along from a free kick from the corner flag ?!? sure great cross, but it was all too easy for him.

Defoe must be wondering what he's doing playing for that mess of a team.

We weren't great today, but we never deserved to be two goals down. A moronic piece of play by Ledley and a missed offside by the lino can undo any gameplan, but we stuck at it and got one back at dead the right time.
Low quality, but I disagree about it being a poor game. It's never a poor game when teams can't defend properly.
Early in the season the result is, for me, always more important than the performance, but it wasn't a bad one, just a bit caught between two stools as we battle ourselves with the style of play.
As for Zeki, really pleased for the lad. He's been dismissed with basically zero evidence from many on here and like EVERY player he needs a managers faith and playing time. Now he might turn out to be the worst fullback we've ever had, but at least give him the chance for us to find out. Same goes for all our squad players, don't judge on 7 minutes played in the last month.

Sunderland would be in real trouble without defoe. However i thought we were the better team and are starting to play some decent football instead of the "exciting" head down charging down the wing with no end product of last season. Btw to all the pard haters, he knows far more about football than all of us because its been his job his whole adult life. we are all entitled to our opinions but he is the one getting the big bucks not us and he cant be a complete muppet at it cos people keep him in employment.

Absolutely fantastic comeback from us. The Sunderland dressing room must be lower than a snake's belly.

We were somewhere around Barstow, on the edge of the desert, when the drugs began to take hold...

A lot to work on, shouldn't go 2-0 down when you're dominating the game. Everton will rip us to shreds if we're that disjointed defensively on Friday.

Very strange game. We ARE a far better team than Sunderland but our defending at times was poor. Yes, the 2 goals they scored were fairly flukey or against the run of play (Ledley mistake, offside in build-up) but they were able to cause our defence too many problems. Our set-pieces were generally poor too. However, we looked very sharp at times and were never out of it. Glad Benteke was one of the scorers as that'll do wonders for his confidence. He wasn't as dominant in the air as he was against Stoke but I am not sure the quality of balls to him were the best. I think a better team than Sunderland would have held on for the win. The McArthur and Benteke goals were examples of some atrocious defending. Still, 3 league wins on the trot guys, including 2 victories away in the North East. Eagles!!

not quit SB, but I agree with the statememt.
(think he was a glazier, window fitter/ something like that prior to his palace playing career)
great result today

I'd rather have him as palace manager than try and put new windows in my house.

..subs had no say in it, Sunderland were absolutely terrible only allowed to come out in the second half and build in confidence because we utterly and completely ballsed up and then during the second half allowed them to have way toooo much space when outside our box...which gave them even more confidence!

The difference was Manquillo in the end ...luckily for us.

With this statement you are confirming to the whole world that you have absolutely no idea of what you are talking about it.OPTA stats will show Fryers and Lee with an assist each today and rightly so as it was their respective crosses that led to our 2nd and 3rd goals.I take it McArthur and Benteke had nothing to do with the result as well then.
