Not too excited by this....another fading star looking for a last payday. Got a feeling he'll spend more time on the treatment table than on the pitch. Sincerely hope I'm wrong. Professor Downer.

Flamini can cover LB aswell. If I honest I'd prefer jedinak maybe sentimental. Flamini will be a useful squad player and be a better option than mutch. Can you see flamini as a regular starter or not? Edited by Dan89 (07 Sep 2016 2.30pm)

Judging by what he's trying to do with his energy company I'm not sure money is the be-all and end-all. Not that he will be playing for free. Player who wins a tackle like Jedinak but a better passer. Which fits in with what club are now looking for from a defensive midfielder. SE25 is turning into the French quarter.

Yes indeed, let's hope you are wrong. He has the potential to be a useful signing at our level and if he really wanted another big payday I'm sure China or the US would have obliged. Far better than no midfield signing at all and much better than filling that last place with Williams or (the forever injured) Chamakh. In terms of skill, especially passing, he's an upgrade on Jedinak.

Then for lesser opposition he'll be rested. So say against Bournemouth we might play Ledley/ Mcarthur but against City Flamini will come in. Obviously subjective based on what system we play. But I doubt I recon he'll get more game time when everyone is fit than Jedi did. Although I'm certainly not knocking Jedi, just think we'll change our formation slightly this year and Flamini will be a key part. IMO
