I think Pards knew he was off weeks ago hence the signing of Townsend. We urgently now need to replace Gayle

We need a first eleven striker first.

Not about the money? he was angling for more every season he was here

Time to go Alan

Very true, every year we'd hear how he was after a rise or pay parity with the top earners at the club.
To be brutally frank, he never scored anywhere near enough goals for an attacking player. I liked Bolas in but we have definitely got the better end of the deal. £20m is incredible business for a player that cost us £350k, made 144 appearances yet scored just 13 goals

I am far from convinced that this is a good move for Bolasie from a footballing career point of view. There will be a higher expectation level from fans at Goodison with that fee and wages and at 27, the phrase "old dogs, new tricks" comes to mind. Obviously it's a good move for him financially and sadly that seems to have been his over-riding concern for the past few years. Yala, Wilf and Townsend in competition for two places would have been great for this club but it was never going to happen. Disappointed with his lack of acknowledgement to the fans after Saturday and he apparently blanked the kids pre-Valencia game too.

Before you criticise someone, you should walk a mile in their shoes. That way, when you criticise them, you're a mile away and you have their shoes.

Complete opposite to Jedi... Bolasie couldn't leave quick enough, with little to no thought about the fans that had sung his name for years on end.

Sad really. Lack of respect.

Would wish him well, but he hasn't wished us well.

So bollox to him.

If it doesnt work out i hope we have a clause where we are first choice to buy back for say £15m next season.

Im sure he will do good though so the best of luck to him. Brought for 300k sold for 24.57m rising to 30m, good profit that.

Why would we pay £15M for an attacking midfielder who scores less than a goal every ten games. No thanks

For me, apart from Wilf, the most entertaining player at the club for the last few years, and have many happy memories of him. Many thanks Yala

I don't think many of us would disagree? Outrageous prices in the recent transfer window anyway. Surprised Sissoko isn't listed ...he must be overpriced by about £30 million?

Thanks for this Percy. It made me look back to an email I sent to a mate on 5th July. Here's an extract

As I mentioned, the gossip is that W Ham are after Bolasie. He was our star player last season and it's no coincidence that most of our slump happened when he was out injured. I'd be sorry to see him leave (as would Zaha because they're great mates) but he's 27 going on 28, I think, and he wasn't quite as influential when he returned from injury, so perhaps now would be a good time to cash in on his reputation if a big enough offer is received. It's not as though we're short of wide players now (with Townsend, Zaha & Puncheon as well as Sullay Kaikai, a promising youngster coming through).

I would never have believed that the "big enough offer" would be £28m. I was thinking probably half that sum. To reject this offer would have been utter madness.

A Swiss institute looking at this windows transfers has concluded that Everton massively over-paid for the 'asset' Bolasie to the tune of 19 millions.

Yes - as Percy has posted. But quite right. And once again the board have done the right thing even if it risked offending the fans. I hope the fans will recognise that this one deal may well have been a tremendous springboard for the club.
