Various sources on twitter, BBS etc saying Newcastle is more likely destination for Remy, but that we are close to signing Adebayor.

If the Geordies get Reme the they have had an awesome window with Shelvey, Townsend and Reme. All 3 players that could have done a great job for us and improved our quality

I would presume Remy was our first choice but looking likely he's off to the barcodes. Adebayor is still a lot better than any other striker we have at the club and will tide us over until the summer. Fair play to Ashley he's putting his money where his mouth is. Should shut them geordies up for a little while.
