Various sources on twitter, BBS etc saying Newcastle is more likely destination for Remy, but that we are close to signing Adebayor.

Looks like Adebeyor is a done deal. Why not go for Remy as well?

This ^^^^^^ I've been saying for some time we need more than one striker this window. If EA gets a knock then we are back to square one. Both EA and Remy would be good.

Need a midfielder to in my opinion.

Would have LOVED Townsend here been perfect for our missing wingers and lack of quality.

I would presume Remy was our first choice but looking likely he's off to the barcodes. Adebayor is still a lot better than any other striker we have at the club and will tide us over until the summer. Fair play to Ashley he's putting his money where his mouth is. Should shut them geordies up for a little while.
