Southampton odds on to Win his Signature Bulls*** article, these odds have been the same for over two week. Since Cabaye's quotes in the french media there hasn't been a single piece of real news. Looks like we're waiting for the window to open.

If we don't get the likes of Cabaye/Remy/Januzi and lose one or two of our top 5 players (Dann and/or Bolasi for example e) but then replaced the gaps with Chamionship/relegated players. We will have problems. It seems to me based on the thread that runs through all the hearsay gossip that we are not really attracting such top notch players AND even if we could get them CPFC2010 won't pay. My view (with a crystal ball): Sell Gayle, Campbell and two of three others and go balls out for 'two' belters and one more in Jan.

Dann was playing in the championship and had been relegated twice , bolasie was a sub for a team in the championship who got relegated that season , so your point makes no sense , doesn't really matter where we sign players from , it's wether they are good enough , MacArthur for example was another bought from the championship.

Not to mention Ward (Pompey), Delaney (released by Ipswich), Murray (Br*ghton), the list goes on..... Fact is, our squad at this time has a spine of experienced, ex-Championship players. But, I agree also with the view that we now need to build on that spine with experienced top tier quality. We don't have the time to continually pluck players from the lower leagues and develop them slowly into successful PL players. We need to progress quickly, or I fear we'll be left behind. While that doesn't mean we can't deepen our squad with potentially first team players from lower divisions, it also means we need to dig deep into the coffers and bring in a Remy or a Cabaye.

I agree Fazil. A 'world class' transfer in is what we need. Cabaye is a great example. What we have achieved from the lower leagues is fantastic and hats off to Dougie, Holloway and Pulis! But we must try and go to the next level. The fantastic AP makes me nervous when I look at some of the signings he made in Jan. Cabaye would be fantastic for us: "Simples"

It's doesn't really matter if they are championship or premier in my eyes. It's more about that morale and close nit bond that this batch have and whether the new signings will unbalance or gel with it We do need to have strength in depth though.

Someone on the bbs said that reports in France say he'll be signing for wait for it. West Ham Sorry to say this, but WMU are a far more established PL 'name' than Palace, and are about to move into a brilliant Olympic stadium, and pay higher wages. Difficult to compete against that
