Was there a handball just before the goal?

Sat back and waited for it again getting really sick of these predictable s*** tactics from pulis negative subs are costing us we are without doubt the most boring team ever!!

With respect, Fvck off. That was a great performance and we had chances to win it. Negative subs? Murray and Bannan? Are you for real?

With respect, I completely agree with ambrose77. Substitutions were completely nuts. Took off all width and brought on too many central guys. Both full backs had no support after that which was moronic with Ben Afra having just come on for the toon. Murray and Bannan were reasonable subs but Guedioura for Punch certainly was not.

Kudos to TP for giving it a go initially and we certainly played well in the game but the subs were a little curious and felt like we got to ~75 mins and decided to shut up shop.

The whole reason for the substitution was to have Ledley in front of Ward to counter the Ben Arfa threat.

1 goal in the last 5 games and that was a penalty !
How on earth can we survive with that goalscoring record ?

I never gave us a chance today because of this.

Jerome isn't good enough - he isn't exactly the most intelligent of players. In the first half, he had options both left and right but was selfish and decided to take the shot on. We have to take those sort of chances.

Play like that away at Cardiff, Fulham, West Ham - we can conceivably win all 3

This.
That was a cruel way to lose but we played out of our skin for most of the game. Newcastle have players that can hurt you and ultimately that happened.

Ben Arfa is pure class and when you have a player that can put crosses in like that with both feet you have to be on top of your game and hope luck is with you too. I can't fault the defence, just an immaculate ball that even Jerome couldn't have missed with. I'm gutted but I honestly think that if we play like that against those 3 we will get points that will be vital for us.

Why did we play like this against a good Newcastle side and negative s*** against Sunderland? Admittedly this is a massive oversimplification but arguably if we'd played the defensive s*** today and played like we did today against Sunderland we'd be walking away from the north-east with 4 points rather than 1 (ie, a win against Sunderland and a draw today).

We got away with quite a few situations throughout the game.

I thought Cisse was sh1t, but it turns out he wasn't quite as sh1t as all our attacking options.

The first 15 minutes of the 2nd half was our opportunity to get in front, but we couldn't hit a cow's arse with a banjo.

To keep on picking KG seems madness to me when Bannan would have been a better option and we might have broke Newcastle down. We don't need 2 defensive midfielders and Jedi is the better of the two. I'm not putting the blame on KG, it's Pulis that needs to be more inventive.

Next week is the ideal game to make changes as we cannot expect much if Chelsea bring their A game (to be honest their C game would do us.

Respect to the 3000 fans that travelled and once again did us proud.

as i understand it, any time added on is a minimum. So basically, the ref (probert the homer today) has cart blanche to add on what he likes.

Ive been critical of the last few performances, and rightly so i think. But i do give credit as well, and today we were really good. Didnt deserve that at the end. Gutted for em.
Ref gave us jack s*** all game. But we still dont have a cutting edge in front of goal, and that could cost us dearly (im stating the obvious, i know).
The team should not let the result affect the spirit, but rather the performance encourage them.
Deserved a point today.

Of course there was, it would be our luck! We will never know though as they won't show a replay, ever.

We kind of sat back towards the end, but I think we should have tried to keep the ball more.

Unlucky day, but a better performance today.
