Agreed. As I get older I am more and more concerned that old men send young men to die. Unless this country is directly threaten like Germany did in WW2 we should keep out of it. Send humanitarian aid and that is all. Oddly enough plenty of other Western Countries adopt this policy and they seem to get on fine. We need our politicians to stop pretending we are a super power and policemen of their world. Perfect post.

It's kind of annoying but not unexpected that Biden has tried to present a peace plan as coming from the Israelis when it hasn't come from Netanyahu and thus is nothing more than a pressure device. He's probably more interested in trying to win back lost votes with certain Democrats by presenting himself as the peacemaker when it's as two faced as it gets as he's shipped in the bombs. It's all so dishonest.

Netanyahu must have been involved in the new plan and signed off on it. The difference being how it is presented and interpreted. It has enough ambiguity to mean several things. The pressure is on the hard right elements that he needs to maintain his government. They have now threatened to withdraw support and collapse the government but the opposition have said they support the plan and that could be sufficient to see it work. There were large rallies in Tel Aviv last night in favour and pressure from many places to see it adopted. It begins to seem possible.

Interesting perspective. Perhaps. It's clear however that Netanyahu is being pressuried into a form of words here. What that means on the ground though is something else. Netanyahu can define removing the Hamas threat to....in practice to continue on. I'm not sure what happens in practical terms if the cabinet splits.....another election perhaps? I'm just not seeing how Netanyahu benefits from stopping personally. I could be wrong but I would think the hardline elements in his government would have to be removed.....and I'm not seeing how that's done without conflict within Israel itself. Israel starting to resemble the US perhaps.

News coming through that Netanyahu's government will not accept the U.S. brokered ceasefire proposal.

Well it appears that Hamas may have been present and teaching them. This has the 100s dead at the hospital all over it. There will be intel on the ground about who was present.

A big revelation emerges on the IDF strike on a UNRWA school in Gaza on June 6 that killed around 40 people. Israeli fighter jets appear to have used the U.S.-made munition in the strike, as per a Washington Post report. The nose of a GBU-39 small-diameter bomb was visible in the footage taken by an eyewitness. The IDF claimed its fighter jets targeted three classrooms of the UNRWA school in central Gaza. Hamas are not in tents, schools or hospitals they are an underground army, they are mobile and use hit and run tactics from the tunnel network. The bomb may even have been personally signed by Nicki Haley, former UN Ambassador. 'Finish 'em off', those displaced palestinian women and children sheltering in a huddle.

This whole 'conflict' is cloaked in hidden agendas and media suppression and mis-information. The only thing we can really gauge from (staged) photographs, are that Palestinian civilians are being killed in large numbers, and the remainder are relocated and denied proper food and medical equipment. Though we al know the eventual outcome. All the Palestinians dead or relocated and Israel 'victorious'.
