Those breaking the rules would still face suspension, removal of some posts, and public warnings about others. Obvious lies and calls for insurrection would be removed. Which could easily amount to much the same thing for someone like Trump. Stay within the rules, and no problem. Break them and you will be. What it avoids is the creation of a martyr in the eyes of some.

United Nations announces Klaus Schwab of the World Economic Forum and UN General Secretary Antonio Guterres have signed an agreement to ‘accelerate’ Agenda 2030. Agenda 2030 is essentially western elites deciding that you the common people will pay for climate change - 'sustainable development' using a time table they decided on. Just remember, you are told you can control the elites apparently. The 'mystical' elites who, if they do exist, only act in your best interests. None of this involves your required consent. Notice how no one in the mainstream political sphere is offering you an option against the 'green tax' where you energy bills are lowered by around 25 percent or even a slow down or reduced percent. How is that democracy? That's total bs. No action, anywhere, can be taken without the legal authority of governments. Governments who we in the west elect and give consent to take decisions on our behalf. They also, on our behalf, and with our consent, have agreed to maintain our membership of the United Nations. The WEF brings together other stakeholders to try to identify common problems and co-ordinate action to deal with them. Climate change being the most urgent. Partnership with the UN is simply common sense. Of course, the "common people" will "pay" for tackling climate change, just as they would "pay" for not tackling it! Ultimately, the "common people" pay for everything. It's just another way of saying "all of us". Developing a conspiracy theory about sensible participation and co-operation at international levels to try to deal with a global problem, is crazy. It is just subsidiarity in action. If you can handle things better locally, do so. If you cannot, then you handle things together with others. As this demands worldwide action, a global co-ordination makes perfect sense. That though doesn't mean it is done without our consent.

At times of stress like this, we need to double down on our resolve to tackle climate change, and not weaken it. Giving help to those most affected is necessary, but not by a general withdrawal of green levies.

Wrong message to India and China because the UK takes unilateral action on fuel bills, how many moons does your planet have? In what parallel dimension do India and China give a flying feck?

I don't make that assumption at all. I was merely commenting on the wisdom of suspending the green elements of energy charges. I fully accept there are other ways to assist those most impacted, although rises in taxation for certain groups (which by the way would probably include me) needs to be considered, along with a windfall tax on those who are scooping up the benefits.

Yes the other way is not to beleive all the bulls*** and bollox about the climate 'emergency'. Well because resources and manufacturing of said green living are continuous it probably will never balance. Yes very green!

most energy bill are 25% green tax apparently. If correct with energy bills going to £300 a month upwards, suspending this punitive tax would save households £900 a year, that's an immediate saving and relief.

You can still work towards your green goals but stop punishing the public.
