But as HH stated, it started under Labour? There is more to this deal than just the power it provodes. However in terms of power it is important to secure long term sources at a time of instability. Windfarms and solar power can only provide so much and Tidal Energy is not the answer either. It may prove to be expensive energy or it might actually prove to be reasonable, we just don't know. I might have misheard but last night they were saying that at one point on Monday the cost of electricity was actually higher than the proposed cost of Hinkley. Lastly, this is a bit of a non argument as Corbyn won't get elected and secondly if by some hole in the matrix he did, he would cancel it, leaving us with a big bill and still no answer to the energy crisis. A fair piece from the rabidly socialist CNBC: I don't disagree that Nuclear is part of the UK's energy future - far from it - but my anger isn't about the choice of power generation. Not only has every leader starting with Blair gleefully taken every opportunity to tax us and give loads of that tax income directly to corporates and contracted-in service providers, we're now giving it out to foreign state entities whilst putting us on the hook for decades of profiteering from them! We've never had it so good.

You may be right, they do seem to at least acknowledge now that politicians are low grade across the board and that maybe, just maybe, the Tories don't walk on water! No government has 'walked on water' from the day I was born in 1954. However, the older I get, the more cynical politicians become.

Still 7 points behind the Tories (31 vs 38 ) but although the Lib Dems seem to be doing well in council elections, it is not translating into taking any votes off Labour on a national poll stage. Still more than enough for a likely Tory majority though. Edited by OknotOK (16 Sep 2016 3.51pm)

Only in your mind. NUT conference and others always offers a creche facility for parent delegates who would be otherwise bne thwarted from going because of childcare.

It's a facking outrage! From Alan Gibbons, award winning childrens' author... Momentum Kids has been set up to help politically active parents with childcare activities. There are some activities at The World Transformed this weekend and I am doing some story-telling. (Trotsky does not feature, but a gorilla does). Amid the Tiny Trots nonsense from the Lib Dem leader Tim Farron, this is what I actually said, quoted in the Mail: Edited by nickgusset (19 Sep 2016 4.13pm)

Organisers of Momentum Kids, which hopes to expand across the group's 150 local branches, said it would "create a space for questioning, curious children where we can listen to them and give them a voice". That should read, and tell them what to think.
