I don't need the Mail, the Sun or the Express to form an opinion. There is also plenty of academic work on the bias of the justice system. I am disagreeing with you and you simply taking the opposite opinion is making no difference. I could say that you are stating the opinion of the Guardian or of the 19th Century Times but why bother. I didn't suggest you did need the Mail, Sun or Express to form your opinions! I said that is what they want from you as it adds to the chorus they are trying to raise in public perceptions. I don't read the Guardian, anymore than I do many other media outlets. Which I do online almost exclusively these days and I can assure you that many more are from a hard Brexit position than a soft one. I tend to form opinions based on what people actually say, rather than what people say they said. I try to read the original documents and not someone's appraisal of them.

As opposed to that wonderful 'Remain' campaign and all that 'Project Fear' hogwash. Apropos accepting Article 50, this is certainly not the case as far as the 'Lib Dems' are concerned nor the SNP.Labour have repeatedly waffled on about "Respecting the referendum" but will have voted against ANY deal that Mrs May brought to Parliament and will continue to be obstructive as they simply cannot stomach voting for a Conservative agreed deal with the EU. I think I have spouted enough on this matter on HOL. It has been consuming my life outside this cherished site much to the chagrin of my dear wife who has had enough of my pontificating on this subject, hence I have concentrated on the football debates.I shall now bow out gracefully! Wasnt project fear a leave response to any suggested negative possible outcome of Brexit? And how do you know it's hogwash? No body really knows what will happen.

The only plan Cummings has is who to blame when it all goes pop. So far their main pronouncements are that they hope the EU will be reasonable. That is if they don't agree they are by definition unreasonable. Parliament gets a few nominations. The sovereign supreme power that is required to follow the will of the people expressed years ago without the experience and knowledge of the following years that might just have changed its mind. Next the establishment. Hmm please define. However you do so it is a nebulous collection of disparate groups who don't act as one and who are no doubt as divided on this question as all other groups. Then the BBC. A suggestion too ludicrous to give further attention. Alien lizard people. I know but a better candidate than the BBC

I don't believe that to be true and even if it was you don't run a democratic country with a gun held to your head. Just because a relatively small number of people may not like us leaving the EU the threat of violence should not stop us. No sensible person wants to see a return to violence and I would be happy if in the future there was a united Ireland as long as that was achieved by democratic means.

Best to leave Trump in his own thread but I suspect he wants to be impeached, so he can carry the "witch-hunt" defence into the re-election campaign. Cummings is using Trump like tactics. This is all about the GE in a month or two's time. Exactly how the next few weeks play out is as unclear to me as anybody else but it's obvious that the EU won't accept what's on the table as it fails to meet some of their non negotiable positions, which they have been crystal clear about. Johnson asking for "compromises" from them is just window dressing for his campaign strategy. You could write the banners on the posters now. Yep

Utterly shameless cash in. The excitement of the moment followed by the massive disappointment of losing the Ashes series, could well be like Brexit.

A self defeating argument if ever I heard one. People chose to vote both ways without knowing what a post Brexit Britain would look like. However, some of us do have a pretty good idea what a future EU will look like.

It’s something which long pre-dates ‘Wissie’ getting involved on here. Maybe that's because Pussay Patrol, Mapletree, Steeleye and Wissie have insinuated this on several occasions, which as you have obviously studied this thread intensely you will know. Again I do not have a sack of spuds on my shoulder but object to being spoken down to just because I happen to have different political views to those that know it all

Sometimes it’s needed when something especially idiotic is disseminated as though it’s gospel. Also this is an anonymously contributed public forum. I’d suggest being precious is not the best approach. It also suggests a slight hint of insecurity. Again, not a great trait to expose around here. Stupidity and intelligence are not great bedfellows. This forum certainly proves that. ‘Remember, when you are dead, you do not know you are dead. It is only painful for others. The same applies when you are stupid.‘
