If this goes through - Bournemouth fans will doubtless be absolutely gutted. However, I think his only mistake will have been to have made such a big deal about his apparent reasons for rejecting us and Charlton.

Let's be honest - Burnely are currently a far more attractive proposition than either of us and would represent a realistic way for him to build on his reputation and maybe experience Premiership football sooner rather than later.

If he knew of Burnley's interest earlier, he should have chosen his words far more carefully.

Either way - he hasn't gone there yet - we were all pretty sure he was leaving Bournemouth just a few days ago and were wrong!
