As I said at our local hospital they did it at ward and clinic level, so the injections came to the staff, and not the other way.

Many staff are working 12 hour shifts, 6 days a week, because of staff shortages. Not much time for anything other than work, eat and sleep.

Maybe they are and I feel sorry for them but it doesn't take very long and if it were deemed that important they'd be under pressure to get jabbed and provision made. This sympathy wasn't extended to other people who might have been busy but were supposed to be treated as pariahs for being unvaccinated.

They are under pressure. Not least their own as there are concerns about cases rising again. There are provisions being made. A walk in clinic for staff who were absent when the team visited their area is now in operation near the entrance.

During the pandemic most people were under very little time pressure, so no excuses available for them. Nor were there many excuses for anyone else either as it was vital to get on top of it and for all of us to pull our weight. We can cope with a few more hold outs now. Back then they thoroughly deserved pariah status and for me they still do.

They were available for weeks, in many places, often without the need to book an appointment.

You avoided vaccination.

They're dealing with vulnerable people but still get excuses made. Something of a double standard at work then.

Who is making excuses? These are reasons, not excuses. You excuse bad behaviour. Most accept they need to get their Covid booster. Not all get the annual flu jab. Should they feel unwell they isolate.

No no I was extremely busy. I didint get a moment to take a break during my busy work day.

Wonder why there was so much availability for weeks? Perhaps everyone else was busy too?

There are reasons others weren't vaccinated too but they weren't deemed acceptable but health workers, for whom it's been claimed lockdown was implemented to protect, are free to do as they choose because they're busy. Sure. Makes perfect sense.

Not everybody could receive it immediately. There weren’t the facilities or the stocks. It had to be prioritised.

You could though have booked a slot or walked in when your chance came. It only took 5 mins and one would have been available on a route you took. You avoided.

However if you are now ready to accept your responsibility and the vaccine then let me know and where you are and I will try to make the arrangements for you. I will find a clinic near you and when it is available. I’ll even pay your bus fare.

Fortunately my calendar is fully booked for the foreseeable future. I am a very busy person with not much time.

Of course there were reasons for some vulnerable individuals, but not for others. They just gave excuses.

Initially NHS were mandated to accept it but ultimately that was relaxed on pragmatic grounds as the restrictions eased.

There is still an expectation that they all protect themselves and those that don’t are not kindly regarded. They have to be removed from roles that involve close contact with the vulnerable which is an additional burden on management. So free to choose?

It was relaxed because it was unscientific and thousands of NHS staff were going to loose their jobs because they were "too busy".
