I'm quite happy to give him credit for the rare occasion he gets something right, but they'll come on raving about a David vs Goliath draw against 10th place Arsenal. Big Toe Punts recent bizarre point based on a 25 year old book where he dug out a quote saying Steve Coppell was criticised once so through an illogical series of links, Hodgson should be immune from criticism. Roy has kept us up, when the likes of Huddersfield, Norwich, Cardiff, Swansea, Fulham have been relegated. That's not a big achievement. Two wins over struggling sides and its back to living in complete denial of the very poor performance since the 3rd game of the season. Leeds are a newly promoted side. We have a better squad than them. We should expect anything but a win as unacceptable.

When Mr Hodgson arrived at the club we were rock-bottom and in the first 7 games of that season we hadn't scored a goal and never gained even a single point. That season we finished in 11th place. This is the 4th season in the PL under his tenureship, during which time our net spend has been some £10 Mill which is a paltry sum.The goal return from his centre-forward has been totally abject and the subject of derision.

I’m not sure we do have a better team than Leeds or the crazy notion that ONLY a win will do against Leeds tomorrow night. I think you are just paving your way for another Roy bashing session. Don’t get me wrong, I think Roy should retire at the end of this season, but not before then... Edited by Gary St.Andrews (07 Feb 2021 10.50am)

I hope that I'm not breaking the moderator secrecy act if I were to say that Tickled Pink has already been banned at least twice for his aggressive attitude towards people that disagreed with him and when he reregistered in his current incarnation he was spotted straight away. It was agreed that we would leave him be to see if the leopard really could change his spots with one particular mod saying that it was highly unlikely and he would eventually revert to type. Looks like he was right

Edited by Gary St.Andrews (07 Feb 2021 10.50am) Fair enough, their might be certain scenarios which could mitigate the situation. Other than Phillips, they don't seem to be that impressive anywhere. Maybe i'll rephase that. We should be expecting to beat Leeds. A good result shouldn't be an excuse for coming on and praising Hodgson as a miricle worker. Trouble is the main apologists for Roy just see no wrong.

Just a quick response to the reference to Steve Coppell. He was interviewed prior to his first season with us in top division , he was asked what the ambition was for the coming season. His response was that it was a competition and would try to win it.

Jeeagles I would suggest that Hodgson supporters would say the opposite and that people against Hodgson will say he doesn’t do anything right and there will definitely be mad rants on here every time we lose, Roy has kept us up, when the likes of Huddersfield, Norwich, Cardiff, Swansea, Fulham have been relegated and also Stoke, West Brom Watford and Bournemouth Stoke and Fulham were clubs that Palace want to be by often being in the top 10. Watford and Bournemouth and Swansea, teams that people moan about as they are seen to be doing better than us or playing better football It’s tough being and more importantly staying in the premiership so I think Roy is doing a good job especially with player investment being less than pretty much everyone else whilst also appreciating that he has his stubborn faults
