remember being at Ashburton seniors, early 70s.
we had an open air swimming pool.
'Raise the Roof' sponsored walks/runs/fetes/weasel killing , you name it, to raise funds to put a roof on the s***e outdoor pool.
this was still going on even into the late 80s when siblings were there.
the roof never happened but the teachers went on some great school ski-winter holidays.

it'll never happen, just a new burger outlet, 5 guys hopefully.

That roof did happen I started in 82 and the roof was there then but all long gone now.

I'm trying to remember the outdoor pool we used to go to. I'm thinking either Catford, Lewisham or Beckenham? Who needs a roof? There were at least two days a year you'd dare to jump in. Plus there was nearly always a 'floater'.

Bromley had a lido near Bromley Common. Beckenham has a pool but always inside not sure about Lewisham. Anyway I think Tooting is the only Lido locally my friend swims there every Sunday all year.

I remember the old outdoor pool on the Purley Way some of it was 15 foot deep I think, always freezing cold and if you went off the high board you would probably die. It’s a garden centre now but some bits are still there

Bellingham Baths. Loved it there in the summer of ‘76! All my mates went on school trip to south of France but my Mum couldn’t afford it so I was home alone. Ended up with a better sun tan than all those who went and boy was there some delightful ladies at the pool!!! Ollie’s Dad, Ash.

That's the one. My gran lived in Catford and we would all walk down. Simpler times. I presume it's gone.

We used to go to Purley Way pool in the summer. It used to be absolutely rammed but you could spend most of the day there. Always used to take a picnic. Happy days.

A non league club could not and would not want to groundshare in a 40,000 seater Premiership stadium. Neither would a Premiership club have any interest in groundsharing with semi pros that will churn the pitch up every other week.
This is a ridiculous suggestion on so many levels

So we wait for this new stand to be built........
Or we pay for them to stay at the Athletics stadium were they are playing at the moment .
