He said he voted remain. For an arch brexiteer how does one trust a man who can't even speak truth to himself? In politics it is seen as a crime to admit to ambivalence. That's essentially what he did in the referendum, but probably voted remain for the same reason I (nearly) did: because he couldn't support a cause that was being led by some of the most odious Tories in the country. Let's remember what Johnson has said. He wrote editorials in the Spectator praising the EU throughout the noughties, consistently said he wasn't interested in being PM and lied to the queen about prorogation. In fact, if you really went through his past, I think you could find a passionate stance on both sides of every major issue of the past 30 years. Is Corbyn perfect? No. Is he better than another entitled, unprincipled opportunist formed in the corridors of Eton? Of course. Edited by serial thriller (30 Sep 2019 6.20pm)
If punk ever happened I'd be preaching the law, instead of listenin to Lydon lecture BBC4 |

On this I am with you. Sympathy to the Palestinian cause is not anti semitic. It is anti Israeli govt policy. Different thing. Failing to properly address the issue in his party smacks of ineptitude rather than alignment with the view. So he never had any links to holocaust denialists then?

Notwithstanding my comment and his supreme unelelectability Corbyn is basically jesus compared to that disingenuous toe rag Johnson in fact is that actually his name?? I wouldn't trust him that far. Sadly says more about the dimness of Tory grassroots that they trust and believe somebody so obviously duplicitous. I suppose he is posh so we must obey him. Thought that attitude died about 40 years ago

Jeremy Corbyn is a decent upright man of considerable experience. In the Zaha phrase he is, 'just too good for them' and they bombard him with marxist accusations because they have no argument to offer. He may be wrong and I am not sure myself, but he is streets ahead of Johnson, and has seen off May. Provided the reason and operandi of a short interim administration is agreed, there is no reason why Corbyn cannot be trusted. He will be working for the people, not Crispin Odious or Lord Snooty and his band of chancers.

Parliament as whole is exactly in line with my interpretation, or more accurately I am with their's. They just don't say it in quite the same way I suspect for fear of alienating people like you even more.

Grant Shapps declared that the collapse of Thomas Cook was proof the UK was ready for a no-deal Brexit, because we had shown we could repatriate people if necessary. I mean, really. But pride of place to Loathsome, who was thrilled we have a PM with the pzazz to get Brexit over the line, 'don't we conference'? The camera panned to a stony-faced audience defo not feeling that in anyway, she died a death not unfamiliar to the northern club circuit for aspiring comics. I found it disconcerting that there may be human tories, took me back to voting for Ted Heath.

If he gets the ticket it will elevate his status and protect some labour remain votes which are driftig libdemwards. They would rather Ken Clarke or pretty much anyone else. The tories both present an recently past wont support him for obvious reasons. Wont happen.
