I was if the opinion that the players volunteer to take the penalties, which I have always thought, takes a lot of bottle. However, there are times when, perhaps the more experienced players and management should step in and make the decision.
Both Rashford and Sancho had barely touched the ball, so could not have been easy for them. Poor Saka, you could virtually see the pressure weighing him down and I knew he would miss.
I do put some of the blame on Southgate, as I could see no reason why Grealish was not introduced earlier, the Italians seemed happy to wait for penalties and that proved to be the correct tactic for them. Maybe we should have gone all out to win it in extra time but hindsight is a wonderful thing ( especially in football)

This is disgusting behaviour made even more appealing by the timing.

The reality is that this will only get worse whilst ‘the knee’ continues to be force fed to the vast majority who it doesn’t apply to. Its gradually driving normally sane people to madness because you can’t escape it. It’s all over the TV, media, comes up in the workplace and conversation. We’re the most tolerant and diverse country in the world and I’m proud of that - we just don’t need this message on repeat 24/7 as it’s not relevant to 99% of us.

It’s gone on far too long and is having the opposite effect as intended - it’s fuel to the morons. As far as I’m aware, before BLM, racism in football in the UK was pretty much non existent and isolated to perhaps 2/3 comments per season from the crowd - which was reported like a terrorist attack.

Why the Premier League/FA - the least racist industry in the world, which is based purely on ability, have allowed to get themselves embroiled in this is all rather baffling. It’s created a monster.

What is strange is people like you putting pictures of Black only England players and then talking abouut diversity.
What is strange is a man getting an honour for whining about racism when he is a super rich footballer.

Anyone missing penalties or the like will receive abuse from the usual types. I'm sure Southgate is receiving a lot, but you won't be too bothered by that.
