I agree that the various treaties since and including Maastricht represented such a significant loss of parliamentary sovereignty that only the people in a referendum had the right to authorise a government to sign or not sign them.

While a 'no deal' exit wasn't the original desire of most including Johnson, who voted for May's deal on its third sitting.....it now represents the only mechanism for leaving.

The opposition could today recommend another vote on May's deal.....But the reality is that they are playing a game of 'win or bust' and indeed the suspicion is that some of them are in cohorts with Barnier.

of course they are, they are all hoping to become MEPs when they give up being MPs....aka winning the lottery

not found the speech/link that said the referndum was only advisory yet? Didnt think so...if it was advisory WHY did they trigger article 50 and PROMISE to honour the result?? All MPs are liars, only in it for what THEY can get!!.NEVER voting again.....
Will sit and watch the riots when it is cancelled..

The reason that jobs are going is because the EU is paying companies to re locate to Europe to give jobs to the Spanish/Italians etc etc

Anybody remember Neil Kinnock? So, in 1983 he stood for election on the UK withdrawing from the EU and in 1992 as labour leader lost whilst declaring his stance of abolishing the House of Lords.
He then became a European Commissioner and in 2005 got a life peerage.That is why our MPs love the EU so much; untold wealth for failure or mediocracy.
I also believe that both his wife and his son got jobs in the EU machine too (but I accept being potentially corrected on that point).

cant be arsed pal, you look for Camerons speech, 'it will be your choice you the people not politicians etc etc' The man LIED, then ran away to let others sort out his mess.....

so if it wasnt legally binding WHY did they promise to honour the result? Why invoke article 50? Why not just ignore it? What are they frightened of? The forthcoming riots when they cancel it?

We are now in a situation where Boris can't leave without a deal unless he breaks the law. He will never get consent from a majority in parliament for any deal he brings as he has alienated the lot of them.

So possibly, the only person who can actually make Brexit happen is Corbyn. And yet people on here won't support him because they think he's a member of IS!

Enjoy remaining in the EU !

Never said he was a member of IS you fool, just that he sympathises with MOST terrorist organisations.....most people wont support Corbyn because hes a useless , two faced LIAR and a Communist....if thats what you want good luck with that!! Britain will be bankrupt with Corbyn McDonnell and Abbott in charge, enjoy the Marxist government that you crave so much

Clearly. After all, they've done such a superb job in doing so over the past 4 years.

Say what you like about that party, but their ability to convince people that they are effective governors and likely to stand up for them, even when all the evidence is to the contrary, is uncanny.
