At least you’re honest about being a liar I guess.

Most of the rest of the world already recognise Palestine as a state so not sure why Ireland’s position would make them an embarrassment.

I think supporting a genocide is far more embarrassing, personally.

Not really no.

Irelands position is an embarrassment. As it always has been.

The only side that wants to commit mass genocide are from the Palestinians / Hamas. They are the ones singing and chanting about mas genocide of the Jews and Israel. Israel are defending themselves just like the US did after 9/11.

In all fairness to EverybodyDannsNow, he's unlikely to have much insight into the goings on in Ireland. In Britain there is little to no reporting on what Ireland is really like.
What I will say is that it should be of no surprise that most Irish will support terrorism that they will see as justified somehow. It's kind of 200 years of hero-worshipping terrorists that isn't going to be undone overnight - although I do think the current establishment wish it didn't play up on it so much in the past. It can easily backfire.

I’m a son of two Irish parents with immediate family still living there and numerous trips over a year, so that’s not really accurate - I wouldn’t claim to be an expert but certainly have had plenty of exposure to the place and the culture.

I also don’t really understand the assertion that if I knew what Ireland is really like, I would have a different view on this topic.

I don’t think it’s complicated as to why the Irish are generally very sympathetic to oppressed peoples. Again, hardly anyone ‘supports terrorism’, but the Irish do tend to have a better understanding of how people end up taking such extreme measures when they spend decades under occupation and oppression. (I think in reality everyone understands that these type of movements by oppressed peoples will inevitably become more and more extreme, but we have to pretend we don’t and that they’re just wild, blood-thirsty terrorists who enjoy killing for the sake of it.)

That's fair enough I won't take it to heart then.

I honestly think the real reason in recognising a Palestinian "state" is not to further the cause of peace in the Middle East, but to manufacture consent for when Ireland inevitably absorbs millions of Palestinians.

I also seen Simon harris had "constructive talks" with Abbas a man who is about to commence the 19th year of the 4 year term of office to which he was "elected" in 2006....

How can it be an embarrassment to the rest of the world, as you have claimed, when they’ve simply now stated a position in line with the majority of the rest of the world? You mean an embarrassment to the US and U.K. surely.

Again, the bit in bold is demonstrably untrue, and you’re saying it either through ignorance or dishonesty.

I guess at the end of the day the reality of the atrocities committed by Hamas is too much to stomach for some people and they turn a blind eye.

There’s some tremendous irony in this observation.

This sounds all very tightrope to me.

So what do you say to the English people who say they have been pushed out of parts of England by invading ethnicities?

When the British went into NI in the seventies it was to protect Catholic families from unionists. The British weren't going into Eire and oppressing people.

Now if your argument is that the British shouldn't have been in Northern Ireland in the first place....ok, I get that argument but if that's the tune then you must also make that argument for English towns and capitals that are being taken over by the non English.

well from one undemocratic appointee to another then. Simon Harris dropped out of his first year of college. And went straight into Politics. For the life of me, i cannot name one proud achievement of his prior to becoming PM in Ireland. His management of the finances for a new Childrens Hospital has become a laughing stock. Spending more money than Cauecescu's Palace. Maybe the most expensive building on the planet ?

Surely the UK would never get a PM who was just 'appointed' by a shady inner cabal ? oh, hang on .....
