Understood, and fair enough, but let me ask you this (genuine) question: If we are 12th come the final game or two, and only a point or two behind the two or three teams above us, would you rather Hodgson picks our strongest side and priorities finishing 10th, or that he gives starts to the best youth team players we have, and accepts that it might cost us the points? We played our strongest side and got 1 point from 8 games last season. It must be so frustrating that actual events destroy all your arguments.

Kicked on in the form of consistency, we haven't been involved in a relegation situation at all with Mr Hodgson, that's never happened before to the number of seasons he's been here, that is progress. No it’s not, merely stabilization with little appetite to climb just be safe.

If we played our strongest side where do you feel we went wrong then considering you seem to believe our manager hasn't a clue with team selection and subs. You're going to say formation aren't you lol

This is the Internet and I disagree with you And..... if it wasn't for Roy, we wouldn't be having it. Completely his fault, but I'd like to thank him for giving us something to discuss during lockdown. I'm sure some would credit dividing the fans as a masterstroke to keep us all distracted from the grim reality of the COVID world. How many beers has everyone else has tonight?

I'd go for the points, every place earns £££, and also feelgood factor. Don't forget, higher placement means actually winning games, now there's a scary thought... The difference between 12th and 10th is worth about £3.5m. Not to be sneezed at, but hardly a game changer. The feelgood factor of a young player getting a chance goes a long way too, and they'll learn more in 90 minutes than in 15. Maintaining a winning habit is valuable in terms of the players mentality, and form certainly can carry over from one season to the next, but I don't think that's enough for me to come round to your way of thinking on this. For me, it'll make very little difference in my assessment of Hodgson if we dip at the line and pip a couple of teams to 10th spot.
