I have a funny feeling this is one massive publicity stunt by Jordan to get a big-name buyer for Palace. It's certainly raised the profile of CPFC!

Personally the idea of a terrorist taking over palace is absolutely disgraceful. Its like Osama Bin Laden placing a bid for westbrom! He is scum. Has anyone ever heard of the Lockerbie bombing? 270 people murdered....as much as the idea of an abramovic style investment to the club is appealing we have to say no
now we have money, lets buy the den! arrange a friendly, millwall v brighton, 20 minutes in set off a big pile of semtex! |

Jordan, for all his arrogance and bravado, is an incredibly smart man, and he must know that all this publicity (front page of the guardian) will further enhance his chances of attracting a suitable bidder for Palace. I'm certain that Jordan wouldn't seriously consider selling to Gadaffi if an offer was to be presented, nor do I believe for one second that Gadaffi is genuinely interested in Palace. I wouldn't be atall surprised if this is all a smokescreen allowing a certain Martin Long to step into the hotseat at the club. He is a life-long Palace fan, has an enormous personal fortune, and I think would now seriusly consider a bid for Palace if he hasn't already done so. No rich life-long Palace fan would be happy to see an individual such as Gadaffi buy our club. Everything will work out for the best, all this Gadaffi business is a clever ploy by SJ. Agreed. I think it's a ploy myself, as I said back on about page 13 [see below], to get other bidders interested. He's clever is our chairman. But we shall see. Who's Martin Long by the way? Quote SpikeyMatt at 17 Jul 2004 10:08am
Apart from being supremely baffled, one thing has come out of this: JORDAN WANTS OUT! Such a high profile name 'linked' with buying CPFC may bring in other possible investors to come in and take-over. The pieces fit for this - if or when Jordan sells the club, he'll sell it to the man that he thinks will be able to take the team on, and be a popular choice with the fans. I hope!

Gaddafi could use a partner to run Palace without anyone knowing. Anyway, I too think this is a big publicity stunt by SJ. Very clever.

Martin Long is the founder of Churchill insurance. He is a lifelong Palace fan (he was responsible for us landing the Churchill sponsorship deal in our hour of need) and sold Churchill insurance for a pretty sizeable sum of cash. He is a multi millionaire and in my opinion, is the man to take over the baton from SJ. Whether he actually harbours genuine interest in purchasing CPFC is anyones guess, but our promotion to the prem has made us a more viable proposition than we were 12 months ago.

My wife took one look at Goldberg and said she didn't trust him. The Secretary General of the United Nations does not trust this one. Jordan will never sell to Noades and Bates and their wives, so how the heck....... I've got a good idea: let's play a pre-seson friendly in Lockerbie.

We will have to wait and see what happens as it is out of our hands. WATCH THE HEADLINES IN THE NEWS!!!!!!!!!!
Supported Palace for over 69 years since the age of 7 and have seen all the ups and downs and will probably see many more ups and downs before I go up to the big football club in the sky. |

it is a very clever ploy by sj.at no time ever has he said that there is interest from lybia all he has said is that if some~one like gaddafi made an offer for the club he would consider it.
