Coaching, watching them day in day out. Thinking about how Luton might play against us. Thinking we have weaknesses at FB and how to mitigate that (against Luton FFS). Analysing what went wrong against Everton. Fixing it. Having a plan B. I’m inclined to agree Dave. Watched the entirety of both Everton and Luton games and unless you hold the belief a manager’s role begins and ends at just picking XI each week, there’s much to poke holes in.
Now Zaha's got a bit of green grass ahead of him here... and finds Ambrose... not a bad effort!!!! |

We have to be realistic, the current squad has circa 6/7 who you could say are EPL quality. The balance for the starting 11 has to be picked from a bunch of players who are at best championship quality, younger player who have no experience in the lower league, or sick notes. If your core 6/7 get injured then your in even deeper brown stuff. Roy's hands are really limited because of poor transfer activity, Parish and his fellow directors are the problem they want to be in the EPL but they just do not want to spend the cash to do it and if the do spend, then, they make bad transfer decisions by signing players we don't need. This may well end badly!

This may well end badly! When you consider it, we could require at least four or five good signings next summer. That seems almost out of our reach. We're going to have to sell someone to fund it. We will then need to replace them too. The crux time is next season but mainly the summer transfer window. We need (require - not hope for) a right back, a left back, a left winger, a striker. Possibly we could get someone with versatility so they can play left or right. A winger/ inside forward perhaps.

1. Wrong. In fact he would be a lot wealthier had he not sold his stake in GAC. 2. What do you define as '' world level '' then ? Are the Brentford and Brighton owners that ?? Then your other comments ; Look at the players Roy was forced to put in before because he had no other option and they put in performances Mitchell was one of them so was a right back we received 50m for from United remember him. Riedewald as well when had a chance left back looked very good even won player of month straight away dumped. I see you are another jumping on the negative Edouard bandwagon yet what is his return rate this season so far for goals 5 goals out of 12 appa how is that poor for a team which is not great at creating plus if you work it out based on current rate he would hit 14 goals come end of the season that is a good return. Roy has one way of doing things this is the issue and why we always struggle against teams we should either be beating or drawing with. 1. I stand by what I said. Hodgson isn't being forced to play Richards at right back while Ward and Clyne are available. So you have to assume that he doesn't rate him in that position. 2. Riedewald - good technique but too one paced. I don't see him as worthy of a left back position. 3. I'm not jumping on any negative Edouard bandwagon given that my view of him hasn't changed in the last 18 months. Agreed his goal return this season looks impressive. When he doesn't score, he contributes virtually nothing. It's going back a bit, but you may remember a player called Ian Rush who scored goals for fun but was also described as Liverpool's first line of defence. Edouard was described as '' timid '' in a write in The Times and that sums him up. 4. We all know that Roy has his methods. Like them or not, they get the results he needs to achieve his objectives. 1. complete nonsense you really need to do your home work. (Simon Jordan has more wealth when compared to Steve Parish who couldn't even afford to buy Palace himself this is when the club was not even worth hardly anything later on had to bring Americans in because again he couldn't fund it) As I said he has made his most wealth from Palace which is true. 2. you are being stupid now commercial wise what has he done for the palace brand on a world scale nothing they do not even have distribution of merchandise. How can you rate people without giving them game time. I never said he should put Richards are right back. You have missed the point about Riedewald he was a different player back then and Roy wanted him to change which he has now he is useless (You are being very selective with what you are seeing remove rose tinted specs) Yes you are you said Ed was useless etc yet as i clearly showed how is 5 goals in 12 useless return for a team which creates very little and the season before people praised Wilf yet if you work out minutes to goals he was better again people moaning about him. You clearly do not even watch the games. Roy gets results how about these results lost to Everton and now Luton yes great results.

You clearly do not even watch the games. Roy gets results how about these results lost to Everton and now Luton yes great results. You're most risible comment to date. Haven't missed a home game in years and been to my share of away games too. Talking of homework, it's you that need to learn how to do some basic research. He continues to invest in other ventures outside of the club. Yes, his ( now diluted ) share holding in CPFC has increased in value but he did not derive the majority of his wealth from CPFC. And what has Simon Jordan got to do with this ?? I asked you to define '' world level '' as I had no idea what you meant by it. Instead of just answering my sincere question you then resorted to insulting me. Very adult of you. I haven't missed any point about Riedewald - you rate him, I gave my reasons why I don't think he's the man for the left back position. Perhaps it just suits your agenda to apportion blame on Hodgson for that. You're being selective in how you are reading my comments. A good example coming up ; Edouard - you accuse me of jumping on a bandwagon to which I reply I have not rated him for most of the time he has been with the club. No bandwagon jumping here. I conceded that his goal return is good this season but if you think his overall performances have been acceptable I would contend that it's you that clearly don't watch games. And finally, you chose your own interpretation ( again ) re Roy's methods. To make things as clear as I can for you, my point was that his results over the course of a season are such that he achieves his priority objective of keeping Palace in the Premier League. In other words not isolated match results, the last two of which have been very disappointing. Edited by NEILLO (27 Nov 2023 12.35am)

It seems I was watching a different game. I thought we were unlucky. We lost 2 key players at almost the same time, yet still maintained our ascendancy. We had a good goal ruled out for an unlucky handball, scored a wonderful equaliser but made a defensive error to concede again. The pressure at the end so nearly yielded results. The only reason it didn’t was luck. Luton didn’t beat us. They are a poor side. Luck beat us. Play that another 10 times and we would win most of them. That’s football. Olise was outstanding. That was my take on the game. We were in control for the first half and looked like the only team who was going to score. I actually thought Edouard had a good game and linked well with the midfield. I also though Lerma played his best game for us and was unlucky not to equalise.
