But it didnt cross the line as proven by the availiable pictures . I haven't seen one photo yet that shows it 'definitely'over the line . Yep. My comment arises from the lack of video evidence provided as the initial view was all that was provided. Seemed pretty conclusive to me the ‘curvature’ had yet to cross!
Now Zaha's got a bit of green grass ahead of him here... and finds Ambrose... not a bad effort!!!! |

Are we seeing the "2nd tier" footballing nations really catching up on the South Americans and Europeans? I've been expecting it for a long time, especially the African countries, but they seemed to stall at a lower level. Senegal might just add weight to my suspicions. I hate to admit it but this WC is getting interesting. Judging by the pictures I saw today from the Senegalese parliament England are in for a fight.

Well plenty of evidence with this one but still disallowed. Attachment: lampard-germany-ghost-goal-2010-world-cup.jpg (300.27Kb)

The way the World Cup is going you'd almost put Senegal as favourites against England.

I think USA found us out a bit and sides better than Iran and Wales may do the same again. USA's midfield rotated and moved us around to make space for their players to receive the ball - our midfielders don't really swap positions, we give the ball to tricksters but they too often don't receive the ball facing the goal or free of markers and have to finesse their way out of tricky positions just to keep possession. Unless we get a bit more fluidity in our midfield I think we'll get out-manouvered again. Also Bellingham is obviously decent but at 19 he's no Pirlo, we looked rudderless against USA - i'm not sure the team has enough players with the initiative and maturity to get hold of the game and dominate the way some countries do. Germany are out but i really liked the way they regrouped and got the draw v Spain, any of Portugal's trio of Silva, Neves or Fernandes would walk into our midfield. The team may well step up and click in the face of tougher opposition, but the jury's still out imho - and i'd like to see Gallagher get a run out at some point because he can get about and make himself available right across the pitch.

Happy to see the Uruguayans having a group hissy fit after being eliminated just now. Couldn't have happened to a more deserving team of cheating slimey gits.
I have now sufficient funds to last me the rest of my life. Provided I don't buy anything. |

The USA "found" us out the way the Scots did in the Euros. They both poured their resources into that match. For England it was the middle section of a 270 minute game against 3 teams. The object was do not concede, no injuries and no cards. We never got out of 3rd for either game.

Quick thought: Kyle Walker My memory is awful these days, has he played yet and didn’t he have an injury just before this WC? Apologies if not but nonetheless, if we are destined for a quarter final showdown with the French, and I don’t feel apprehensive in suggesting that a) that will happen b) They are the best team in the world right now and c) their main threat is possibly thee worlds best player right now, Mbappe, wouldn’t walker be the one player we’d want to mark him? If so is it worth him getting up to speed against Senegal first? I’m increasingly aware my initial statement could be wrong so please correct me if so!
