I think he was given a one year contract for this season…so when that ends I’d say that is it…unless he decides to retire now himself.

Fair play to the lad for keep coming back but if he needs yet more surgery you would think he will get the message his body is sending him.

Could be but second guessing whats in an insurance policy is pointless .I dare say there are various versions of policy for players ,hope Ferguson has got a good one .

Really sad as evidently he was extremely good before the injuries started.

However, right back is a clear area of weakness in our team and we cannot simply carry on with two aging right backs on the offchance that Ferguson eventually heals.

A new starting right back (and competition at left back) is absolutely essential this summer.

If someone at this age is having this many injuries it shows this is too high level for them or they need to retire.

He has not even played 6 full games in what was classed as reserves over past 3 years (7 year career only 80 full games this even include u18 and cup games)

Ferguson doesn't need one. He gets paid for not playing. It's his employer that might benefit from insurance, but as a player's injury record gets longer and longer, the premiums will go up and up until eventually the concept of insurance becomes unviable. As an aside, just like your home contents or your pets, there's nothing to say that any club HAS to insure its players should they choose not to.
