Western civilisation is now effectively into its Swansong. The battle is now around what emerges. I've been thinking along similar lines. The world changes, it's pretty sh1t for most people as it is. Let's hope it's better for the majority. If it isn't, then resist it. We actually should be resisting current events. The West has gone completely to pot in my opinion. I doubt any reset will be much worse than it already is. The status quo is crap.

Something we can at least agree on but be prepare for things to get much worse before they get better. Unfortunately for most it's the only way they will be motivated to do anything. I'm very much in the camp that the solution is "united non-compliance" because any mass violent disorder will be ruthlessly dealt with (and the state have all the toys) and is used to justify yet more draconian abuses of power.

Net zero is the biggest con ever.

I read Net Zero recently described as the Lefts 21st century version of Mao's 'Great Leap Forward'. And we all know how that ended up.
We live in a world in which fracking solves almost every geo-political problem. And yet it is now virtually non-existent. Meaning the Saudis no longer have to keep the oil price under $60 a barrel. Energy is the battlefield. Quite literally, in the case of Ukraine.

I know this is entering tin foil hat territory for most people but I’ve looked into the abiotic theory of oil (it’s not a fossil fuel) and the arguments are quite compelling. This is the best short summary I’ve found. It’s interesting if nothing else. Be interested to get a view from others with an open mind.

Well my mind is a bit closed as I don’t believe what we are being told about man made climate change. This though is interesting by the fact that oil is twice as deep as the deepest fossil. Basically oil is mineral not fossil alongside the huge amount that is still there. Does it make it cleaner? Not sure but if this has been allowed as the truth for over a century what chance is there of the decision makers actually admitting it’s a big con.

It depends somewhat if you are willing to “stay in your lane” and “trust the experts” as we are taught or just trust yourself with information (the default for most people before the printing press). Seeing as what we are generally fed is “curated” (chosen by others whose paymasters and incentives are opaque), I choose the latter. That’s wasn’t the case for most of my life though.

By the way, I think you are contradicting yourself here. Your mind is obviously open to ideas that do not conform to the narrative.

Just generally Are you comparing my covid opinions to this as there are reasons I don’t doubt the evidence that jabs are generally a benefit. My views on climate change don’t move. It’s generally bollox although I have admitted that a small amount could be man made. That’s the only flip flop I’ve had and only because it’s unprovable that we are not to some degree.
