They may sit on things for a while whilst they wait for work permits and the like but unusual for this length of time. So, yes, obviously bollox that he signed weeks and weeks ago on a five year deal. As I said it was likely aspirational and we’re confident we can pull it off - rather than it’s ‘Cheick Doucoure - Done Deal 5yr deal - €20m’

We both want success for our Club, and it doesn't strike me as wrong for those operating on our behalf in the murky world of transfer deals to hold their cards close to their chest until those deals are signed, sealed AND DELIVERED. At that point we can celebrate (or usually!) At the certain risk of lowering the tone, I'm reminded of the female TV chef many years ago who, in explaining one stage in her recipe, remarked that "at this point it's a case of the longer you take over it the better it is at the end". Hmmm. Quite right, especially when you’ve got shysters like Wet Spam waiting to pounce on our every move!!
