Truly sickening.

Truly excellent post, which I think sums up the frustrations of many. Were the Tory MPs who had served in Afghan that laid into the government virtue signallers too out of interest?

“I’m sick of all this [working for veterans and soldiers] for a Conservative Party and a government that treats me with contempt”. On his role as a Tory MP, Mr Mercer said: “I’m not going to lie to you: it’s something I think about everyday. Being in the Tory Party at the moment is like working for a really s**t company where everyone takes the p**s out of you and everyone running it hasn’t got a clue”. Try being a soldier in General Sir Nick Clarke's army, you would spend most of your time wondering what side you were on. From what I have been reading, theirs.

Does going to a place instantly make everyone of the same view then? I lived in Brixton and you didn't.....so do you agree with my views on what should happen there then. Are you sure you don't carry the teas in? Edited by Stirlingsays (19 Aug 2021 4.05pm)

Does going to a place instantly make everyone of the same view then? No of course not. But it’s an extremely nuanced situation isn’t it? There’s no right or wrong answer to the situation, otherwise it would have been solved 20 years ago. But I’m far more inclined to listen to those who have been out there then those making bold sweeping statements from the sidelines from cosy U.K. enclaves.
