There hasn't been a position that I've needed to defend so I can't help you there.

I struggle to say I prefer Biden over anyone, but didn't have the highest opinion of Trump so we will see. I'm not sure that society is designed to operate at full throttle for such a period of time, so Grandpa Joe sleeping rather than tweeting through a Presidency may have a certain balance to it.

Doesn't concern me at all. Why should it? So long as it's properly managed to ensure that there is nothing untoward then there is no reason not to allow the Chinese to compete. If we want to sell them things then we must expect to allow them to at least try to sell them to us. That's the way world trade works in 2021.

Be careful what you wish for. The Chinese have been buying there way into many countries, for many years. I have witnessed it in pakistan and the Caribbean. They are not doing it for the good of anyone but themselves.
I had a long conversation with a chap who owned a British Cheesemaking factory, they had been approached by the Chinese for a visit with a view to a trade deal. The British company paid for everything for the Chinese. Basically it was a spying mission, the entourage was basically scientists, they had to stop them taking photographs of the factory, even attempted to take the temperature of the cheese etc so they could replicate the cheese and sell rather than deal with the company.

Biden and his team have a plan. It's been talked about for months and isn't so different to what we and other countries have been doing. Social distancing, mask-wearing, testing, isolating the infected and close contacts and, of course, vaccinate as fast as humanly possible.

It has been scrutinised, discussed and supported by the media. Just ignored by Trump.

He is warning people that there are no instant answers primarily because these things weren't done early enough. That the trajectory cannot be altered for some months is a direct consequence of the LACK of action and not because they are now doing the right things.

It seems that some people are determined to knife Biden in his first week and to claim justification because they feel that Trump was given the same treatment. It's complete nonsense. If that's the level of debate we are going to witness here now this will quickly become a very uninspiring and tedious place.

Trump deserved all he got and more. He did nothing other than lie constantly. Biden is being open and honest. He won't always succeed, especially when people try to obstruct him, but what he will do will genuinely be for the good of the country and all its people.
