I can understand his frustration with so little support up front. Ideally he'd have a free role as strike forward. His dribbling skills are the best and has led to many set pieces and goals. However his crossing and shooting are not the same quality as his ball play. It's easy to see how the management thought that with Wilf on one wing and Andros on the other and Benteke in the middle we'd get a shedload of goals. Well we know it just didn't happen. I for one would have thought it would. Wilf at his best is great but at 28 he should now be in control of his temper and realise that losing it does him no good. Can't see him going for more than £25M. Sorry this is off topic, no rumours just my thoughts. I have now sufficient funds to last me the rest of my life. Provided I don't buy anything.

I’ve already said it on this thread but If Ollie McBurnie Is worth close to 20 million then Wilf is worth 3 times that at least. There is not a snowballs chance in hell of him leaving for £25 million.

I’ve already said it on this thread but If Ollie McBurnie Is worth close to 20 million then Wilf is worth 3 times that at least. There is not a snowballs chance in hell of him leaving for £25 million.

I think we will be short changed if we only got 25 million, when you hear that Ben Chilwell at Leicester City and Jack Grealish of Villa are muted to be moving for 80 million each.

I rate Wilf far better than those two, and so will the Palace board...

If Zaha is going I hope the matter is resolved in the next week or so and does not drag on through the whole transfer window until October. The club will obviously want to extract maximum value for him which is likely to mean brinkmanship and last minute haggling which could impact on our other dealings as we may not know how much money we have to play with for purchases. Ideally you’d want a bidding war with plenty of interest and good players offered to us in exchange as well as cash. I can’t see him going overseas, however, and realistically you can only see a few clubs interested in him and their interest is likely to be tested if the asking fee is north of £70 million.

At a few years older and currently not as good as Grealish we would struggle to get half of what the Villa player goes for. I’d love £80 million, would be amazed at £50 million but would take £30 million.
At a few years older and currently not as good as Grealish we would struggle to get half of what the Villa player goes for.
Looking at Maddison at Leicester having his wages doubled to £95 grand a week (inc bonuses) makes it seem mental that Wilf , Benteke and Sakho are on/have been over 100 grand a week Meyer is on par with a player like Maddison.

I read earlier that Zaha fears that ( again ) he will be priced out of a move by Palace's valuation. I really hope that does not turn out to be the case - we went down that road a year ago and Zaha's form last season reflected his disappointment at not getting a move. I'm not advocating letting him go at a bargain price, but something a lot more realistic than the figures mentioned last summer. Old, Ungifted and White

I read earlier that Zaha fears that ( again ) he will be priced out of a move by Palace's valuation.

I really hope that does not turn out to be the case - we went down that road a year ago and Zaha's form last season reflected his disappointment at not getting a move.

I'm not advocating letting him go at a bargain price, but something a lot more realistic than the figures mentioned last summer.

I agree, if he does not want to be here, let him go. However I don’t think he should expect the club to give him away, after all we have invested a lot of money in him
