Totally fair, worst defence in PL. Couple of scalps will make no difference. Very close results suggest otherwise, last eight .. Arsenal home D 2-2 ..and then us. This to me shows a team that is not being outplayed and one that has worked on their awful start to the season defending wise.

Spuds only took a point against Norwich and Soton away recently whilst we took 2. Both us and them only scored twice in those games.

Mr Hodgson thankfully takes the task of defending seriously, Mr Pardew just wanted to outscore the opposition which he openly admitted. I was quite sad to see him go to be fair, football was exciting under him because he wanted goals, but in the end he just did not understand or want to learn when to give it a rest and honestly try to defend in numbers as to be able to do it properly. Swansea 5-4 Crystal Palace comes to mind after being 3-4 entering added time!

Other than Newcastle away we are doing the right thing against "Teams around us" away from home in as much as we are taking points off them. Yes, important to note that even if we have taken only one point from a draw with a low-placed team, we have also denied them the extra two points from a win.
The right place at the right time |

I sit and watch motd and then realise fully why the comments on their BBC match reports always have people writing 'what is the point of Palace' and 'they should be relegated' etc etc because all they've seen is us being outplayed, they did the same at Newcastle when we actually played very well ..we appeared total crap lol Just look at how Lawro keeps predicting we'll lose. we're down in the relegation zone in his Premier League table.

So you'd play Riedewald if PVA and Schlupp were available? I don't know about that. He had the luxury of playing Norwich. His passing, though, was exceptional. He almost always found a Palace player in space, even when pressured. Schlupp and PVA are far lower in terms of distribution. Schlupp is Also poor defensively but can whack a football hard in the direction of goal. It would be interesting to see how Riedewald would learn the position if he had it for, say, 10 games. Defensively he has a lot to get. On the ball, he adds a lot to us. He makes several offensive players better because he gives them clean ball in space.
If you want to live in a world full of kindness, respect and love, try to show these qualities. |

Also did you notice how brilliantly he shields the ball when backing into players and running away with it, I like the potential in him immensely.

Think Riedewald could also play on the left side in midfield.. links up really well with Wilf.. passing was great last night....I think he’s underrated and could prove to be a big asset!

I agree - he has done really well.Perhaps its not so surprising given that he was a member of the Ajax team that won the Europa League if I recall - so, excellent pedigree. Its also very much to his credit that he really seems to want to seize the opportunity now that its arisen. Potentially, a really great asset moving forward.

It's a shame it was forced though and not optional.

They have conceded more goals and have a the worst goal difference in the league, look at the table. This shows to me the team with the worst defence in the league, not sure how you can " suggest otherwise " They are seven points adrift of 17th. If you are saying that they will not go down , which is possible albeit unlikely ,then suggest you cash in by betting on them. They might stay up and you will be quids in. Your list of results shows a team that has taken 3pts last seven games. If this suggests to you a team that is not being outplayed then not much anyone can say will change your view. Responsibility Deficit Disorder is a medical condition. Symptoms include inability to be corrected when wrong, false sense of superiority, desire to share personal info no else cares about, general hubris. It's a medical issue rather than pure arrogance. |

Very impressed with the strength, control and speed of Pierrick under pressure from Tettey to set Zaha up for the goal. Perhaps he could give Benteke some tips. Of course quality is required but strength, touch and speed are big assets and would give him good chance of succeeding IMO.
