May seem like a stupid question, but why haven't we signed him on a Bosman? Does this mean we leave Bosman's until the last minute as well? Seems inevitable that a Southampton/West Ham/Brighton are already on his case and working on terms...

Presumably because we turned down the opportunity to sign him due to an ongoing injury that we considered required surgery and which we reportedly thought WBA should pay for.
Bexley Dave Can you hear the Brighton sing? I can't hear a ******* thing! "The most arrogant, obnoxious bunch of deluded little sun tanned, loafer wearing mummy's boys I've ever had the misfortune of having to listen to" (Burnley forum) |

I never understood why we made his dodgy knee public. Surely the player isn't too happy about that. I would have thought that it breaches confidentiality. We could have just said that the transfer would not currently go through and made no comment. I wonder if it was announced to make it look like the club was serious about signing anyone, in order to placate the fans.

Like Aaron Ramsay did with Juve.

So Parish has said in a interview on the palace website that Nathan Fergusson had an injury that required long term treatment but that they'll be looking to sign him in the summer when his west brom contract runs out. Could potentially save us a bit of money if that's all sorted already as contract talks would've been completed before the failed medical.

But what will Ferguson do if Baggies get promoted which is looking more and more likely? Does he want to get away from baggies come what may? Also which other clubs will be after him?

The more likely scenario is that if his knee is sorted by the end of the season and his contract has ended someone else will come along and snap him up. Time and tide as they say

Why would he now want to come to Palace? If we did divulge his knee problem we have certainly not helped his career or mental state.

Spiderman I do get the impression that many supporters are not happy at the mention of a renewed 1 year contract for Hodgson.Perhaps talk of an extended contract will not boost season ticket sales, indeed quite the reverse.
