The Benteke loan deal is utter rubbish. Why would we loan him with an option to buy when he's out of contract at the end of the season? It would be a loan worth the option to sign him for nothing lol

Also been told but this is nothing new that we are also in talks/interested in the following: Maupay Not all these will happen but expect at least 1 or 2 of these also if we sell Zaha the number 1 target to replace him is Allan Saint Maximin. Surely if we are still interested/in talks with Castagne and Clyne I would assume signing Jenkinson would be for general cover at the back as opposed to AWB replacement? Also, none of those above are wingers (technically) is there any insight on whom that might be? Thanks for posts Dazza good stuff
Now Zaha's got a bit of green grass ahead of him here... and finds Ambrose... not a bad effort!!!! |

Signing Jenkinson and McCarthy would be truly depressing. Why do we always sign players that are always injured or have hardly played in recent years as they are crap? Because they are cheap is the obvious answer. Aside from that the rest of Dazza's list isn't too bad would be great to get one of Maupay or Morelos and then bin off Benteke to Turkey. Mooy would be a very good signing he reminds me of one of those traditional box to box midfielders who can put it about and create/score goals.

Dazza - been reading your insights over the years but hope you're wrong about McCarthy and Jenkinson. Christ those are 2 uninspiring purchases. Originally posted by dazza

It’s sort of strange seeing as Benteke would be leaving us for good and Fenerbahce have the chance of tying Benteke down longer term than a year, or he negotiates more with them or someone else. Get what we can for him and bring someone useful to us in.

We are a professional Premier league club which, should have a comprehensive International scouting network in place with the purpose of identifying the appropriate talent according to the Clubs brief on an ongoing basis; do the necessary due diligence prior to making informed decisions and sign. Clearly we are struggling with this.

This post has been merged from a topic called 'the odds on our targets coming here' by Midlands Eagle huge pinch of salt needed with betting odds on 'next player/manager' just bookies advertising their wares, odds don't relate much to actual probability but reading between the lines and seeing 100-1 shots you thought b4 might happen can clear one or two things up, so here goes. Zaha is between 1/2 and evens to for Arsenal, you can back him at 7/2 to stay here, which is revealing, no other clubs apart from Everton (3s to 5s) are considered atm. Maupay is 4-6 to go to Brighton, big odds all the other teams, Drinkwater likewise 4-6 for Everton any price the rest, and CLYNE is 1-3 to go to us and 16-1 bar. Charlie Austin is 7-4 for toon about 16s to go to us, and we're firm favs for Morelos (from evs to 4s) - 7-1 bar (Frankfurt) and about 5s he stays with the gers - weakish market tho. It seems Clyne and Morelos could come here, appears to be more than papertalk with these two, although we're still genuinely keen on Castagne it seems, but I haven't heard many striker names being bandied apart from Morelos, but so much hinges on a Zaha sale so we may make a big signing or two with that cash, no way of guessing atm but Clyne and Morelos look likely.
