Thought you lot were well drilled and up for it today - Zaha the most dangerous player on the field for the most part. He was clearly targeted for a bit of rough treatment and it was interesting to see Richarlison (who suffers the same treatment each week) offering his thoughts after the ~10th cynical foul. The ref should have done more to shut that down imo.

You won most of the second/loose balls and were generally 5-10% sharper (at least for the the first 45mins) in all departments.

Everton capitalised on the penalty miss and were fortunate to come away with 3 points; a draw would have been a fair result.

Keep the faith & Good luck against the gooners next week

A very fair and accurate assessment of the game.

As for "Faith" - I do feel it is dissipating with great alacrity amongst our fan base !

Missing the point
Fresh legs change a game.
If he was happy with a point at 70 mins then pack the midfield. We have a squad for a reason.

In Pardews era, it generally led to a defeat.

This is my view as well. The bench is nowhere near good enough and it takes a player several minutes to play themselves into the game.

Again lack of quality in the final third and a missed chance and you can see the belief draining out of the team. Only one way the game was going after that and naive to think Everton wouldn't throw everything at us in the last five minutes.

how long you been a palace fan this is our history first 5 mins we let a goal in, if not then last 5 off the first half. if not the first 5 if not the last 5,its has been the same with every manager we have had in the prem, how we change that god knows, but Roy needs to change we played 451 to me it looked 631 then 442, then lets not flood midfield,we need to look at changing we have the personnel but he wont use, why wasnt meyer playing instead of schlupp,it goes on and on i dont think we will go down but we need to trust our subs

Meyer was ill, didn’t make the bench.

To explain my ‘Keep the faith’ comment:

Palace midfield looked well capable of passing around ours in neat little triangles - it seemed to me that the basis of a good team is right there, they just lack the confidence to commit forward in unison. Zaha has done enough to encourage a risk or 2 from the other attackers

I may be totally wrong but that is what I saw as an opposition supporter.

Bearing in mind how we (Everton) reacted to the spotkick miss (once the crowd woke up and got behind Everton), I look at Palace and see a team that is teetering on the edge of being a very entertaining (and productive) outfit. Your recent record against Liverpool has nothing to do with this, of course...

Sorry to highlight one part of your post but I really don't think we have the personnel.

I reserve judgement on Meyer but he looks too keen to pass sideways or backwards and unable to drive forward with the ball. Neither Kouyate or Luka. Schlupp ? The full backs rarely cross past the first man and Townsends end product has been a joke this season.

That was due to the Sakho's stupidity in the dying minutes.

The irony is that we actually caused them some problems and largely kept them at bay.

We played better in this game than we have for a while.

We have a mental issue with conceding late goals - mental issues are on the management to sort out. Same as when Zaha doesn’t play, we don’t believe we can win - mental weakness.

That penalty is criminal given the circumstances and I say we give the duty to someone else for a while, same for set plays.

However my main issue is Schlupp. He is so, so poor offensively. Play Ayew there, play Kaikai, do anything. Schlupp is so slow and ponderous, he never looks dynamic or makes a decisive pass, it’s pedestrian dross.

How we are playing Schlupp in that position is beyond me.

Trump lost. Badly. Hahahahahahaha.

If Everton are judged to be the best of the rest outside the top 6 then on today’s performance performance we are not far behind. Our side was every bit as competitive as theirs over the 90 minutes. The big difference was the we failed to score from the penalty and they managed to get one 5 mins from the end. The second goal was coincidental in the overall game. Fans talk about substitutions but the reality is outside of out top 11/12 substitutes will not improve the team whereas with Everton their substitutes can.
From this performance I am convinced we have enough quality to ensure our league status despite what might happen over the next 4/5 games. Watching all the games over the weekend there were so many so called high profile players missing easy chances to score so let’s not slate our players trust me we are not that bad ! COYP

Just another non-performance from Palace.

We've already seen a few this season but we shrug our shoulders and turn out the following week to watch another one.

It's probably time to try and identify three teams worse than CPFC and hope that our luck can hold out again.

We have too many players in our first eleven that should be on the bench at best.
This is not about today but countless poor performances.
Townsend and Schlupp for certain and maybe Jmac - who I love by the way - just doesn't seem on it.
We have others that are starting go concern me was well - Sakho is a kamikaze defender who is giving goals away too regularly and PVA is very poor defensively.
Add our lack of a striker and we have a long hard season ahead now.
We nearly did it today but when you make as many individual errors as we did then it will bite you eventually.
