We are not fast going forward. We lack rapid forward movement of the ball with very little centre through ball to our striker (or perhaps, we don't have one). We tend to move the ball sideways and back thus allowing time for the opposition to regroup.

Liverpool 2nd, Southampton's 2nd and Wolves's all have one thing in common - living the door opened at the back trying to get a goal back especially in the dying minutes. The opposition had sussed out that weakness, kicked the ball up field for their pacy strikers to deliver their sucker punch.

You may say we we don't have a proven striker. We played well in April/May of last season and we had Benteke upfront as a striker but he only scored one goal- a penalty against Leicester. The other goals were scored by our non strikers which all played this season. Maybe no Cabaye this time might explain it.

Not to sound too stupid but who has replaced Cabaye's role for the most part this season? Or are we playing a different system?

I have to say it.....I'm actually quite worried.

This side has that smell of players who are happy to pick up the pay cheque......when you combine that with low confidence that's dangerous.

Without Zaha, we are buggered....again.....Palace are still living season to season.

At the moment we are looking pretty buggered with him.

At the end of the day it's all about the players.

We have just lost half our midfield from last season in Cabaye and Loftus-Cheek, who were both full internationals and not for tinpot nations, but France and England.

I've noticed those trademark Roy H training ground moves when three or four players form the triangle or square 20-30 yards out in wideish positions to release someone on the overlap have completely disappeared.

Quite simply we have dropped a level in quality of players and coupled with no centre-forward to occupy defenders now look like we're never going to score.

we brought Meyer and only just starting to use him,
I would go for no one in his role and just muddling our way to start with, hopefully Meyer will get more game time we need something

Wilf has not been on his game since his tv outburst and wasnt really backed by Roy who said it was a problem of his own making. Hopefully he has not fallen out with Roy over the issue but he seems to be sulking

We have no creativity in midfield - hopefully Meyer will provide that but he needs to play! Schlupp was dreadful again yesterday - just don't get what RH sees in him. We need to go back to the formation we had at the end of last season with Zaha and Townsend up front with a (now) midfield 4 of Luka, McArthur, Meyer and Kouyate.

What is so annoying is that we all knew we were very short of strikers at the end of last season, yet Sako was allowed to leave by being offered a reduced contract (was that so we could pay Zaha more?) and we only signed Ayew on loan who is another Fraser Campbell - runs around a lot but will never score many goals. And Sorloth unfortunately looks clueless.

Another very disappointing game yesterday.

We were very poor. If you can’t make chances, you don’t have a hope of winning games. Wolves defended well and took their chance when it came. In the first half they could have very easily been 2-0 up.

Schlupp was by far and away our weakest link yesterday. Sahko and PVA kept carrying the ball out of defence, but Schlupp movement was so bad they had no outlet to attack down the wing. That meant all our attacks have to go down the right which is just far too obvious.

jimmy Mac and Luca simply don’t have the passing ability to cut defenses open.

AWB loses the ball far too often.

When defending it looks like our structure has fallen to pieces.

It looks as though the players aren’t putting the effort in. I’m not sure who is leading the team. Seemed like the players were having a go at each other a fair bit.

I simply can’t see at the moment how Roy is going to turn this round. It seems like all the mistakes lie with him at the moment.

The wages are so high look at the director costs up their with likes of Man united.

These figures are way out of date since then we have signed new sponsors which was claimed by SP up there with big teams and cleared out fair amount of players also spent only 10m in summer transfer window.

those transfer amounts you are on about are old and if you look at the whole time palace has been in Prem we spent 100m that isn't much I pointed this out before West Ham just spent that in one window same with Fulham.

If SP is stupid as it appears he has just shown he is not good at business paying these silly high wages when other clubs are not paying anything near this

The other thing look at the profit it shows 2017 profit of rounding of 13m so again why are we running it so we operate like this you need to keep investing we spend 10m this past window it's a complete joke.

You clearly have no idea about accounts, cash flow, free market or business. Profit and cash are not the same thing.

Your whole argument contradicts itself.

We should be spending more money on the team but then you berate SP for paying out too much in wages. Damned if he does and damned if he doesn’t. The only way we can stand a huge spend is selling Wilf.

Have to say BE has dismantled you here with a coherent argument. You strike me as a bloke down the pub who just gets louder when challenged.

sounds like an awful plan to me...we would end up doing what spurs did after selling bale, just getting half as much due to the market being completely & utterly bonkers.

i would rather stick to what we have, which is more than enough to be competative in this league

I didn't think Wolves were that impressive at all - I expected far more of them.Overall,on the balance of play I thought they were a tad fortunate to come way with all the points. We didn't do enough to win and I think a draw would have been a fairer result.

Some very disappointing individual performances by both Schlupp and Townsend and AWB didn't have his best game as well. After Everton it is Arsenal,Chelsea, Tottenham and Man Utd and our prospects are certainly concerning for us all.
