You are very much one of us Roy. But you have to start listening to the fans. Your loyalty to Benteke is now wearing thin. Swansea is a chance to get Ayew, Mayer and Sorloth and others a full 90 minutes. Let’s not let a rot start to set in early. Hopefully you are right. Seem to remember Sako the only one showing up at the spanking at Bristol City last season and he broke through to the first team. Meyer must be a shoe in next league game, change in the front not to sure it will happen but needs to be.

What I don’t understand is we take so long to put crosses into the box, yet every opportunity Watford got they put in the box. It is pointless playing Benteke when he thrives on crosses and we don’t do this. He had 3 opportunities today a great save, a header wide and a great strike that was unlucky. We either have to start playing to his strengths or drop him for Ayew. One can discuss the save of the keeper but it was a good height for him - Benteke heads it down and it could be a different outcome. As for the other Benteke header he never even hit the target from a gilt-edged position.Regards the shot, I accept he turned well to beat his marker but once again he never hit the target. Each and every game he plays we hope this is the one where Benteke returns to form but each and every game it is the same old story.. and so it goes on.A shocking return of goals from our main striker. OK were all disappointed with that performance and collectively were pretty poor . Didn't take our chances when we were on top and let in a couple of poor goals . It was clear quite early that Wilf was not going to get anywhere against that defence with his back to goal and should have been moved wide where he could get his head up and run at them . Thought Townsend and Macca had decent games and Kelly didnt do a lot wrong after his late draft Please Roy your an old man and will catch pnumonia standing all that time in the rain . Well done but please get in the dry mate

The greasy conditions didn’t suit our players’ silky skills. But the result also serves as a wake-up call after all the pre-season hype.

How was it Hennesseys fault? He is around 6ft 5 and was in the correct position for a cross or shot. He stretched all of that height and it was a flukey hit by their player that 99/100 would have gone sailing over the bar. No keeper would have saved it. But he wasn't though... He was in the correct position for a cross yes... But not for a shot. If he had stayed where he was he saves it.
Don't waste your time with jealousy. Sometimes your ahead, sometimes your behind, the race is long. But in the end it's only with yourself!! |

Did Townsend dive in on both Pereyra and Holebas on both goals?

Dissaponted sums up how we all feel about today. One or two lessons from the game, Wilf is wasted in the centre not his position and it shows. He needs to be able to run at defenders can't do that with his back to goal. Benteke has to come out of the team at least for a while, wins the odd header but lumbers around to much, his movement was poor again. Ward gave the ball away to often and we can now see why he is no longer first choice. We need a good performance and a win against Southampton.

Your only as good as the results you get and this result has made the next game at home very crucial to get some points!! ..............please!

You can't go too far to either side of the goal in case he hits in to the near post. It was a fluke and no keeper would have got it.

Comedy! Ward misses free header from 6 yards. What a terrible game to watch, total rubbish. Hope we start to play our new signings now especially Meyer and ffs give Ayew a chance. Had Ward been watching Kevin Keegans header in the 1982 world cup very disappointed today but glad Wilf scored against the animals from Watford
