You need to read orwells book mate if you think you've mad a good point your mistaken you've diminished your own arguement in that statement. Who has turned the military on its civilians the national guard are only in Democrat run cities not Republican ones so you should ask the dems that question. Firstly: [Link] Secondly, I'd be glad to turn this thread into an education about Orwell's work, and as you seem to be the expert, maybe you could give us all some cheer and enlighten us. Shall we talk about his alienation from British imperialism in Burmese Days? What about his expose of working conditions and early advocacy for socialism in the Road to Wigan Pier? Or maybe you can talk a little bit about his much underappreciated diaries? I graduated in English literature and specialised in 20th century writers, so hopefully I can keep up with your advanced interpretations.
If punk ever happened I'd be preaching the law, instead of listenin to Lydon lecture BBC4 |

No one is denying that Orwell is a socialist. You seem to be confused about what is being stated. However, he was anti totalitarian for politics of any side and had particular criticisms for the socialists of his time. There is plenty of Orwell material on this and a lot of it can be applied to how they act now.....because little has changed, indeed, it's worst. Edited by Stirlingsays (02 Jun 2020 11.11am)

Out of interest, do you think it's fair to critique a state leader if they turn the military on their own citizens? What if they allow a lethal virus to to spread through their population, potentially killing millions, and decide to do nothing about it? At what point does asking whether they have the best interests of their people at heart become legitimate? There’s a legitimate argument that cure could be worse than the disease, but societies now have a problem with seeing more deaths right away, while ignoring the consequence of even more deaths from other problems. There were millions of Americans, including whites that didn’t know the demographic of the dying, that wanted to continue as normal with no lockdown. Been said many times the problem with dealing with rioting is in Femocrat states. Edited by Rudi Hedman (02 Jun 2020 1.13pm)

That bird is a f***ing nonce. Anyone with any self confidence either ignore or give people short shrift when approached like this. They’re either inebriated, lost or missing from a shelter or institution, rude, or have an over inflated sense of importance during a temporary situation or crisis. I’ve experienced similar odd approaches out of nowhere the closer to croydon you go, as you probably always did in inner London. Ignore people like this and they have no response, and if they do respond to being ignored, they look even more stupid. I’ve never apologised for people I’ve never known and I’m not going to start any time soon either. We live by a democratic system, not what you suddenly decide because you have a camera phone and Twitter. People off work and school are gradually going more and more insane. To be expected.
