whilst its unlikely,if he has rejected a new contract could it be because he doesnt want/need the extra money? It's a very sweet thought, but he hasn't been canonized yet

This post has been merged from a topic called 'The Wilfried Zaha Thread' by Midlands Eagle If he had put in a transfer request we would have heard about it. If he plans to commit to another 5 year contract, it makes sense that he would want top dollar. Keep calm and keep the faith.

This post has been merged from a topic called 'The Wilfried Zaha Thread' by Midlands Eagle I usually remain quiet around this time of pre season unless the new manager is a bullsh1tting mentalist and then I’ll go into one. Nobody knows yet. lets wait a while to see.

If this is true, then I despair for the greed of today's players. Zaha's already on about £110k per week - which means he gets more in a day or two than a lot of people get in a year - yet now he wants more. He already has Noades' old mansion with indoor pool etc. Why does he need more money - what is he going to do with it all? Set his family up for life even more. Buy more sh1t, usually tasteless.

Zaha is probably the single biggest reason Palace are where they are. However, we have to plan for the day when he's no longer here. I'm hoping they are thinking of that now. One thing is certain, we don't want to be selling him when his price has dipped. Unless he's decided to go.....I think we have one more season. Yep.

His Mum makes sure that he does it too!

Wow, calling the player who has single handedly kept us up for multiple seasons. Who’s to say he hasn’t done it because he wants to leave for footballing reasons. Either way I think Zaha deserves a little more than being called greedy based on some potential nonsense from the sun.

This post has been merged from a topic called 'The Wilfried Zaha Thread' by Midlands Eagle Wilf has 4 years remaining on his existing contract, reportedly at £110k per week. The discussions on an improved deal seem to have been initiated by CPFC rather than requested by Wilf so maybe the issue is less about money and more about what CPFC might be requesting in return - for example an increased amount to trigger any release clause. Of course the media focus on the fact that Wilf has turned down £125k per week without any knowledge of the other issues under discussion between Wilf and CPFC. My guess is that the issues will be resolved and that Wilf will still be with us next season.

This post has been merged from a topic called 'The Wilfried Zaha Thread' by Midlands Eagle Smacks of lazy journalism, in today's market Palace would/should demand minimum £70M for Zaha this would rule out all the reported and alleged suitors - Spurs, Dortmund and Everton - the latter is laughable why would he go to Everton? Spurs and Dortmund you could argue offer Champions League but neither have the finances to pay £70M plus £125K in wages especially with Spurs having to pay for their new ground. You just need to look they are bulking at paying £30M for Grealish. As I have said before only realistic destination for Zaha could be Chelsea if Hazard goes to Real Madrid. Even then they are in a mess at the moment - Abramovich can't get in the Country and the Manager position is in chaos. So who knows what finances they will have available. Zaha said at the end of the season he was happy at Palace and saw no reason to move - in addition he's only a year into a 5 year deal @£120K a week. As I said lazy journalism and I fully expect to see Zaha with us for at least another season yet. COYP
