and thats the problem with a substandard keeper, makes saves all day then lets in a soft one and costs us a point......easy save for all premier keepers except ours Im afraid!! Blinder is too strong, he had a fair game up to the goal! Yes damn those keepers who make saves all day and then let a soft one in. Any other insights you can share Silurian? Believe me I can't wait

You can't dig anyone out for today. Agreed. Its one of those games. We set our stall out and almost pulled it off. One look at our bench and its a miracle it was 0-1. Sit down and read the players on the bench, its a championship bench. The playing staff are extremely thin right now due to poor transfer strategies and injuries. Benteke needs a rest so hopefully Roy with give Sorloth a shout as 1 up top next time around. At the end of the day we lost 1 nil to an excellent side and they couldn't score until the 88th minute. Would have been nice to nick a point but with our squad right now, we did well.

If you look at the photo on the BBC site Kane was just a couple of feet away from Hennessey when he headed it. The goal was down to the non marking job on Kane.

We were very poor today, 2nd half especially. Spurs could have reasonably had 3 or 4 penalties, and i'm amazed they didn't get at least one. First one when Hennessey called 'leave it' then just clattered their player, second when Kane was brought down by TFM only for the ref to give offside, and third the ridiculous steaming in of Van Arnolt on Ali 2nd half. All looked like clear pens to me and we'd have been absolutely raging if only one of them hadnt been given for us at the other end. Couple of great saves from Hennessey (!!!) then the typical brain fart at the end. But by that time theyd been camped out deep in our half for the entire 2nd half, and it was far more luck than judgement that had kept it level. Basically 0-1 flattered us. WTF Roy was doing bring on the risibly weak Lee in the last ten, the lord only knows. As we were shutting up shop at least chuck Rekap on and have him doubling up with the full back. Lee instead put the ball straight out with his first touch under know pressure, and then drifted around inneffictively never once looking to put a shift in. Delaney just should never had another contract. If Jach cant get in in front of him, then there's clearly a massive error of judgment in signing him, or Roy patently didnt want him and is making a point. Didnt he say "we have 23 players plus Damien Delaney" at one point, a pretty blatant underlining of his opinion of him as a Prem player (league one at best lets face it). IMHO the reason Roy looked so furious after conceding was he was angry with himself for putting him on against his better judgement. Awful, awful goal, but seemed always on the cards the minute Tomkins went off.

I think there's an important point being missed here as well though, which is that if the player isn't ready from a match-sharp point of view sticking him into a pressure cooker and having him fail could do serious damage. I would think though that from this point forward we will see his name down where we used to see Delaney's. Rakip was on the bench and I'm surprised he wasn't used instead of the Lee, who was again useless. Perhaps the same point applies. Underlines how f***ing ridiculous it is to sign a loan player, and not play him because 'hes not ready' and likewise a defender signed to provide cover, who isnt ready when we are stripped right down to our absolute bare bones. Neither signing is fit for purporse. Typical Parish, trying to do things on the cheap and getting caught out. Pathetic stuff.

Dont you know you are not allowed to criticize Parish on this forum....tut tut. Yeh mate you are bang on, the club has been run in a completely schoolboy way for years. The January transfer window was a shambles, as was the last one. FDB was a shambles. No striker was a shambles. 1 goalie is a shambles. And so on and so forth. Parish is inept at managing a squad properly, look at how many players are out of contract at the end of this season. But remember, you cannot criticize Parish here! Whoops I think I just did that. Should listen to my own advice.
