He would get very little little playing time at Chelsea & would definitely improve as a player on loan here. He's not the only one though. Stones and Rashford are bench players for their clubs and get much more international time than RLC

I imagine he’s quite frustrated tonight. His physical presence could have made a difference. Oh well.
Palace since 19 August 1972. Palace 1 (Tony Taylor) Liverpool 1 (Emlyn Hughes) |

The game against Columbia should have shown him what would happen with that approach, strategy and changes when defending a narrow lead against a side that can attack you when it decides to wake up, yet tonight he made exactly the same mistakes. Nobody would be saying this way was the future if Dier's penalty hadn't gone in.

I think that one of the reasons that our transfer activity has been non-existent is that we’ve been waiting until after the World Cup is over to see what RLC decides. Our concern that other clubs would be queuing up for him clearly now won’t happen as for some reason Southgate chose to hardly use him so I feel very confident we’ll get him back. Perhaps this World Cup has taught Loftus-Cheek the lesson Zaha learned at Manchester United. Hopefully he doesn't want to be employed as a strength-tester for seating equipment in dugouts.

But it did go in And so the required post-mortem won't take place. For all the pundits' bullishness those were not good performances and squeaking through that second-round tie papers over many cracks.

I hate doing this. But here goes; I heard from someone tonight, who in fairness is pretty close to the club, that RLC is definitely staying at Chelsea. Read into that what you will. To be honest, I’ve never seen the plausibility of signing him on a permanent deal anyway. For him to of been available it would mean Chelsea not only being prepared to sell a young player who’s English & makes up their home grown contingency, but also that we’d be able to fund such a transfer during a time where cash is supposedly tight. Even if he was available, I worried that it actually wouldn’t be particularly smart business at all. Because he’d come at a premium that would also certainly mean we’d neglect (again) the rest of the squad for the sake of a player that we had on loan. There are different avenues in football to go down beyond having a loan first/watching them in the premier league, to scout a players suitability for our team. Especially when it comes to creative midfielders. There are clamouring hordes of them available in Europe, if we actually had any initiative we could’ve quite easily signed a couple by now, without breaking the bank. Parish needs to pull his finger out, if he pisses Roy off, you’d think the fans who’ve shown him remorse due to the upturn in fortunes last season won’t be so forgiving this time. We’re in last chance saloon to achieve some form of Premier League stability. Let’s not f*** this up now. Edited by Mstrobez (12 Jul 2018 2.15am)

I was at a wedding Sunday. My mate who was getting married is a football coach and his Mrs plays for Palace. Everyone there worked in football except me. On our table was a coach at Chelsea, Steven Gerard’s first team coach’s (was number 2 at Sao Paolo) wife (he was the best man). I was sitting next to an old boy (78 ) assumed he was a relative , turns out he was a Chelsea scout, who scouted Tammy Abraham and Loftus-Cheek. Edited by Casual (12 Jul 2018 6.58am)

As good as we know he is and it was by no means a bad world cup for him but I don't think he will get many starts if he stays at Chelsea this season. He can stay and try to find a way into the team with the risk of being Vs bench player at best or take another loan, as others have said it would be great for us to get him again but more likely to loan somewhere else or Chelsea will sell, whether we will be in a position to buy is a whole different question
