whoa guys, I hope you're not questioning God Emperor Parish! The Palace Police will be on your case sharpish...

I week ago I was roundly castigated on here for the terrible sin of wishing that SP would give us some updates about what is going on. I even said that he didn't even have to tell us much and obviously didn't have to name names and for that the boo boys were out in force. How dare I criticize him as he saved our club. All of my posts are anti Parish and more and more rubbish along those lines.

I feel even more strongly that if a manager isn't appointed early next week Parish has a duty to tell us what is going on (in outline terms only). Whilst it may be true that without him we would have no club but it's equally true that without any fans he wouldn't have a business either.

It always makes me smile to see fans here who think parish is beyond any reproach. He was instrumental in saving this football club from the abyss, and this cannot be forgotten ever, but it doesn't give the guy a blank cheque to do anything without people engaging in what this entire site is supposed to be about - debate of his actions and anyone else holding the keys to this club's success. Why could pulis have long and successful relationships with other chairman but not parish? I get he is a massive tool and a total liar but why did that side of him not come out at stoke? Why did allardyce out of the blue, decide to end his entire career? Who else would have hired warlock? Who else would have not fired Holloway, the guy had to beg to leave the club. Something fishy is going on with parish and his relationships with managers, and is anyone aware that this might mean managing our club is becoming less and less attractive? Now we are more than 3 weeks since SA left and still no manager. Transfers are happening at other clubs and we are on hold. This is unsettling certain players too no doubt and its just schoolboy stuff to take this long to hire a manager. Do other clubs take 3 weeks plus to make a hire?

He's learning on the job - CPFC2010 didn't expect to win promotion so quickly and we've been playing catch up ever since. So plenty of scope to criticise some of his decisions.

But to malign Parish for falling out with Pulis after we won a multimillion court case against the lying scum??!!

If that isn't enough just google Pulis and Gillingham. And read the secret footballer.

Holloway should have been fired, Parish made a mistake there perhaps but he wanted to back his man and have some stability. Remember Doogie's unexpected departure was not much more than 12 months gone.

SA went suddenly but it's been reported that his close friend died in Manchester bombing and he seems to have had a moment of clarity.

As for our club's status- not sure what you're talking about. If press reports are correct we have had the best short list ever. COYP

That really is the most exhausted of tired old clichés. Seven years and it would appear that very little has been learned. It isn't necessary to drag every decision out to the nth degree. Top management is about being able to see the wood for the trees, to make a decision and then go for it and make it happen. We may well have had "the best short-list ever", but I suspect that we've spent so long navel gazing over it that we're going to end up exactly where we started, with Dyche who, with the best will in the world, is hardly an inspiring choice.

I doubt anyone would say Southampton is poorly run. Yet we are neck and neck with it. So why the impatience?

You always do your best to demonstrate the dearth of your intellect by resorting to insults, because you've nothing whatsoever to contribute have you?

Yes I have. You're a moany miserable sod. That's my contribution. You never have anything remotely positive to say and you grasp at whatever you can to make a stick to beat the club with.

I have my reservations about parish, but at the end of the day, he put his money where his mouth is.

One thing i do wish he would improve on - this is just my personal view - i wish he gave updates, clear, concise points so that bored fans don't go stir crazy.

This was once a quality forum....

It was intended to be, the mod chose to ignore me when I pointed that out. Never had a strike against me since I first joined the forum, yet one swear word and I'm yellow carded. Yet someone who was already on a yellow, who therefore had previous, was completely ignored.

He did. But he got it all back when lowering his shareholding and more plus he still owns 18%. He is a fantastic businessman and not a bad chairman but not excellent either. The yardstick is would we name a new stand after him like we did the most deserving Arthur Wait?

Nah.
