Statement online now. If true then fair enough. But I'll be pissing blood if he's in for another huge cheque at some struggling club at Christmas.

Sunderland? He liked it there and doesn't really like Londoners after the way West Ham treated him.

I won't be as bothered if he takes a new job in December compared to him managing another club come August. Remember Pulis left a day before the season started. Sam leaves a few days after the season has finished and 3 months before it starts. If he wants to be an emergency manager then fair enough. Pulis acted like a spoilt girl swinging from boyfriend to boyfriend.

So Allardyce does an exclusve full length interview with the Daily Mail last week without mentioning his uncertain future and news breaks of his resignation there a week later. As said previously this drama's last act will be at Xmas, no doubt with an exclusive in the Daily Mail Edited by Booted Eagle (23 May 2017 9.09pm)
“ [T]here are known knowns; there are things we know that we know. There are known unknowns; that is to say there are things that, we now know we don't know. But there are also unknown unknowns – there are things we do not know we don't know. ” |

Was to be expected. It was never a long time plan, much has many had hoped. I saw this coming when he was appointed just hope that Parish and the board also saw this coming and have plans in place. I was no supporter of this appointment for this reason. Helped us at the time and helped Allerdyce. Everyone is a winner.

Good luck to him. With the ampount of cash he has in the bank I'd retire too! TBH I think this was a much tougher job than he expected and its taken its toll. So he'll probably be at Brighton come Xmas....

Whilst BFS did a great job in keeping us up history suggests that this is his expertise. I t may therefore end up being a good thing that he has chosen to walk out on us as there are probably more progressive managers out there to now take us forward.

Well that doesn't sound to me like platitudes for the press and it sounds like he decided before the much-vauntrd discussions about recruitment began. Perhaps he won't be able to stay away. But I expect I will feel like that when I'm 62 and my job isn't 24/7.
