That ref would never ave given a foul. And also they geezer that fouled wilf should definitely ave walked. Football needs to change its system. It's a joke. Specially when we lose.

Supported Palace for over 69 years since the age of 7 and have seen all the ups and downs and will probably see many more ups and downs before I go up to the big football club in the sky. |

Edited by NI_palace_fan (07 Feb 2017 4.17am) And if he plays for the rest of the season, has a nightmare and we get relegated, will he still be considered a legend? People on here will still crucify him if he has a couple of bad games. I'd rather remember him as the legend he is.

No good at: High balls at 6 foot 3 or 4 or whatever. The reason Pardew wanted him and not Speroni. No good at coming out or staying at the right time. Speroni was suspect here but not this bad. Later on Speroni took the option of staying which is probably better if unsure, or coming out late. No good at low shots. So why the f*** is he our keeper from back then to now?

The manager sees the players in training every day and makes his team selections on what is in front of him. Apart from the cup games he has stuck with Hennesey, so it could be deduced that what he has seen of Speroni he doesnt fancy. Same thing with bringing on Ledley in place of Cabaye on saturday. All the barrack room lawyers on here can snarl and stamp their feet but we have a manager who knows what he is doing now instead of the clueless Pardew (paraphrase them there) so we have to trust his superior knowledge, and judgement, and hope he can turn us around.

No, I'm not (that's not his name by the way). I'd defend any player on here that was being unfairly picked on. Re 'childish' remarks - Silurian alleged that Hennessey shrugged his shoulders after the first goal went in. I was there - that did not happen, and it's a slur (and childish) to suggest it did.

No he didn't. Put his hands up in the catching position as they were about to take the ko. He didn't jump then or put his knee out either. He's a wimp in a sport where some moments require a little courage. So we all now know he'd rather not take a knock or hurt someone else to save a goal. That's good because Stoke, crouch and the league know it as well. And to not bother bending free kicks over the wall. Just put it on the other side. If he comes out he'll do it in frightened slow motion. Every little helps the other side.

why then have successive managers kept him in and not brought back 'crowd favourite' Speroni, or do the managers know less than you?[/quote Allardyce was no doubt in the camp that you have to have an extremely tall keeper in the Prem so he stuck with WH. Hopefully he saw enough on Saturday to see the light and he will play JS this Saturday. Being tall is not the be all and end all when the man is just not good enough. No doubt his size was the reason that Pullis bought him but he just couldn't drop JS because he was that good. Pardew started off in the same way preferring JS to WH but after a bit of a tiff Pardew's ego took over and he just refused to reinstate JS. The result is we have had a weak keeper for over a year and the results show it. The team needs confidence which means playing the new guys and putting JS in goal to at least show that something is being done to sort out the problems.

All this talk about JS being either too old or just as bad as WH is totally without foundation. We have to give it a go because he certainly can't be any worse than WH. It's as without foundation as the idea that Speroni will miraculously give our defence more confidence. Sure it might appease some fans, but why are people so convinced that it will have the effect on the players?
Employee of the month is a good example of how someone can be both a winner and a loser at the same time. |
