Palace, always so near yet so far, the season we look to consolidate is looking a disaster.

only 1 thing for it.
I'll have to take the wife again.
Don't think shes ever seen 'em lose at Selhurst & only once away (and that was at Oldham)

Consolidation ? Certainly not since the beginning of 2016. This time last year we should of strengthened the squad as the slide was already on. Unfortunately there has been no up turn since then on the pitch. If a turn doesn't happen by April and the horror show of our run in we will go down. Presently we are looking like a newly promoted side such as Norwich last season, who had a horrific run in as well. I think this season is going to the wire for us. COYP !!

At the beginning of last season I posted a warning on here about how good teams become toxic. It works like this.

The fans get ideas above beyond the teams capabilites
A couple of signing don't perform
You get a few injuries
You go on a bad run
You sack a manager
Replace him with a worse manager
The team become toxic and falls apart.

We were never thrashed under Pardew but always advocated that we should check who is available before sacking him.

That's a awful performance against Watford, Arsenal, Swansea, Bolton and now West Ham.

That's on the back of a 3-3 away draw, a 3-0 win and then narrow defeats to Man U and Chelsea.

We have certainly regressed and I can't see that we have the manager, players, or funds to turn this around.

Disagree completely. Pardew sowed the seeds for this mess. Was here far longer than he should have been owing to a cup final and support by the 'it's only a calendar year mob' who couldn't see what most could that it would even out to terrible form over a season given time.

He built a team full of powder puff players, no leaders, made Dann captain and failed to see he isn't a leader and it is affecting his form. Many of the marque signings don't seem to care because they know if we go down they will go somewhere else on £100K per week.

I say get players in now that will have an appetite to get us back up next season. The team needs a massive overhaul, I fear too big a task for Sam or any manager put right in a few weeks and one January window.

All that yet under Pardew we were hardly ever outplayed and the team still had spirit. That is not the case now.

kermit your wasting your breath...people are far to stubborn to admit they f***ed up by hounding out pardew for bag sam.

it turns out the grass isnt always greener on the other side.

its obvious to see that the players dont like or want to play for sam.

Pardew has utterly wrecked this team and it stands in his image of something that looks flashy but underneath has a rotting undercurrent,

The marginalisation of the leaders of the team - Speroni, Jedi, Murray et al and removing those characters from not just the field but the dressing room as well,

Blowing smoke up Cabaye's backside - telling players that once they play like him they can have his wages - well Christ I think there will be a few knocking on Parish's door. Then there was the comment "I can't believe we got Andros Townsend" - I'm with you on that one Alan, I can't believe it either.

The "we will play more expansive, clean sheets aren't important" approach, well guess what I've decided to operate a faster speed approach to driving. Means I'll get there quicker, but probably lose my licence.

This is a team that looks exactly what it is, a fake, overpaid, overly smug bunch of individuals with one or two redeeming features. You cannot polish a turd once a turd has happened but lord knows the turd that was slowly developed under Pardew was rolled in copious amounts of glitter under the heading of expansive football.

I actually feel sorry for Big Sam, he is left holding the baby on this one, after Pardew gets his pay off and will go somewhere else and wreck another club.

He has to try and build a team of solidarity when his predecessor made it clear that certain players were worth more than others.

I could not have put it better myself.
Sadly Pardew created this mess and BFS has to try and sort it out.
I doubt he will.
There is a long way to go but we are a shambles right now.
I love Steve Parish to bits but his loyalty to Pardew may cost us our place at the top table!
Sentiment should not interfere with serious business but it did this time.
Oh dear!!

Texas Eagle do remind me when they came on board.Who asked fat Sam for a rundown on what was needed while the incumbent manager was still in charge.

We now don't even look like scoring, so we have little chance.
I don't think Ward has ever been dropped, surely that was his last game for a while, shocking performance.
Townsend, still waste of space, give Lee a start.
Apart from that our defenders don't attack the ball at all.

I thought we gave quite an assured performance in the 1st half, but what a woeful 2nd half showing.

We seem to have completely lost any idea of how to manage a game and get something from it. Our confidence appears to be shot and we never looked like retrieving the game once we went behind.

Mentally the team deflated like a punctured balloon in the second half, no attacking threat whatsoever. I fear for the team now. No sign of the 'Allardyce effect' . Getting new players into a failing team ain't going to be easy. We are falling towards relegation, not climbing out of it. A long hard slog ahead of us...
