Not disputing that, but he wasn't good enough last season. When he did make two appearances at the end of the season, he let in 6 goals, including gifting Southampton their first with one of his 'flaps' at the ball. I went to the Fulham pre-season friendly on 30 July and if that performance is anything to go by, then we should let him retire gracefully and stop giving him new contracts.

You seem happy to condemn JS and SM as making mistakes and not being 'good enough' yet ignore the plethora of class saves they have both made in the matches you mention, yet at the same time, WH is supposed to be the best keeper we have despite the well documented collection of gaffes he made throughout last season? how so?

WH hadn't played for weeks, and I'm honest enough to admit when he makes mistakes; SM has been playing every game and still messes up. By the way, I've been watching Palace since 1968 so I am not a troll. You, on the other hand, seem bent on pursuing this agenda against WH no matter what anyone else thinks. Rather like you, pursuing your agenda against Mandanda/Speroni no matter what anyone else thinks!

I agree totally with you, but others are blind to the obvious.

A tad harsh - major errors against Charlton and Villa; could have done better with the first Man City goal and a couple of free-kicks. Other than that he was sound and played about 40 games. To my knowledge, SM (your favourite player according to your profile which explains your attitude) has made one great save (against Liverpool having already stayed on his line for two 6 yard headers) - not my definition of 'plethora'.

I have no agenda against them - just don't think JS is up to the required standard any more and SM hasn't yet shown why he should be number one (apart from that he is French and we all know that AP likes a French player as he signed loads when he was at Newcastle).

Much like Nigel Martyn not really getting a look in for England. Or Ian Wright up front for that matter. 24 caps for your country when you're still a premier league player is actually a lot.

Think that the 'Chief Scout', Graham Carr has a good knowledge of the French league, hence when Pardew was there players were signed from Toulouse,Bordeaux,Monaco,Lens,Montpellier,Nancy,Lille,Marseille,Rennes etc.

As i keep saying imo NONE of our keepers are top level and moronically shouting steeeve does not a keeper make. Just a thought but if he is so good how come we got him for peanuts and no other club had realised his world beating potential. He is 31 after all.
