Great to see Pards making correct subs and helping to change my mind about him. Great to see Benteke score. Great to see Zeki and Tomkins play well. Great to see some character - especially from Ledley. Everton next week, a break, West Ham, Leicester, Liverpool, and Burnley doesn't look too threatening. Great to see lots of possession, a competent goalkeeper, some shape and style developing into our game... Awesome! MacArthur could be a captain too!

Great cross from Zeki, but it shows the benefit of having bodies in the box. Too often our wingers and fullbacks are trying to find one man in there from open play.
On the winner, for f***s sake who leaves a player like Benteke unmarked from a deadball? I'd be furious if we did it.

Not so much unmarked as just a brilliant inch-perfect swerve ball in by Lee. Goalie and line of defenders could only just watch it as it was out of their reach.

3 points and 2 subs making the difference, Henry and Dave what do you think???

..subs had no say in it, Sunderland were absolutely terrible only allowed to come out in the second half and build in confidence because we utterly and completely ballsed up and then during the second half allowed them to have way toooo much space when outside our box...which gave them even more confidence!

The difference was Manquillo in the end ...luckily for us.

Some of our fringe and returning players got game time and we still won, so happy days. Hope Dann and Wilf are back soon though.

Really fed up with this lazy cliché about no plan B. Pards got his subs spot on today.

That's modern football, non stop clichés. Sometimes subs work sometimes they don't.
