I wouldn't rule it out yet.... Didn't GB say in the press about a week before Garvan was signed that 'there is still a long way to go on that deal' and there are 'no guarantees that it'll happen'? Dave Jones said a very similar thing 48 hours before Bellamy signed. I think this has been put out to slow down the gossip - but it may well still be on....

GB is doing nothing more than putting up a smokescreen on this one. He and 2010 are peeved that this was leaked to the press so are now trying to pour cold water on it. This is more than likely much further down the line than he is saying.

It is in yesterday's Guardian. Who knows stranger things have happened at the Palace?!

'Cash-strapped Palace were only saved from going bust this summer by local businessmen Steve Parish and Martin Long, who have since said the days of extravagant spending at Selhurst Park are over.'

Loving the fact that all the same faces preaching prudence are now wetting themselves about Davids. Anyone thinking he is coming to fit into our wage structure is blind he might well be on a low basic but there will be so many add ons. Maybe 2010 have realised that season tickets/tickets aren't sold unless the floating fan is given something to look forward to.

He has media commitments and playing for Palace or anyone else in London "fits" well with what he already has going on. Not necessarily the expensive player you think

He's had more clubs than Steve Claridge! He probably had an attitude problem, but you could tell how talented he was.
It was my dream to play for Palace and to make my debut. I've always played for the club so if I'm playing here, I wouldn't want to be anywhere else. - John Bostock (Nov 2007) |
