Theres 120,000 jobs going in the NHS alone for those normal people, should they wish to apply!

Not so as much of the nursing recruitment problems are down to the Royal College of Nursing who have kept trying to raise the barrier to entry to the profession insisting that all new nurses should have a university degree

The last thing they should do right now is U turn on the tax cuts.
The markets won't change if they do, inflation will still be high and the bank will still put the base rate up.
Inflation is falling slightly and the Pound is up and we are as someone else said in a better place than the EU as a whole.
It will be giving into the baying mob.
It will also seal - if it isn't already sealed - a return to power for Labour.
I truly believe that there are greater powers at work here even if it is a conspiracy theory.
Conservatives who are still so fixated with the EU, would rather see Starmer get power and take us back into Europe than stay in power themselves.
Absolute scoundrels who don't give a toss about the country, only their own ideals.
They know that Labour will screw it up in one Parliament and then they will be back in power.

Yes, but it can take years for that to happen, they could speed it up and get those granted permission to stay working, in the NHS, and not playing pool all day!

The system does take too long I agree but not all down to Government/Public Sector incompetence I’m afraid CP.
Many lodge application, can’t be detained and disappear. There are those who arrive with no documentation, you can’t do much until you know who they are and where they are from. Once decision taken, barriers are put up to removal, HRA, copious amounts of appeals.
If so many had not been against detention whilst decisions taken, procedures would have been quicker. If we are able to put deterrents in place, less would come and system would not be so overwhelmed.
Maybe you have an answer to speed it up, if your answer is grant them all, I’m afraid the money/housing would soon be gone, as the world and his wife would arrive. That is not being racist or a bigot, that is imo fact.
If you honestly believe they would all take jobs in the NHS perhaps you should stop watching so many news bulletins.

That's not really true. They are responding to a changing environment.

The role of the Nurse has changed and many of the more menial tasks have been delegated to Health Care Assistants, whilst the Nurses take on roles previously handled by doctors.

Jobs for lesser skilled people are still available and can be started without any previous experience, training being given on the job. Should they be good enough, and want to progress, there are routes to become Nurses whilst still working, via apprenticeships etc.

For the avoidance of doubt any comments in response to a previous post are directed to its ideas and not at any, or all, posters personally.

So that's Kwarteng clearing his desk. He'd have lasted longer managing Watford.

It seems Truss disagrees

Also if Starmer gets in and declares he wants back in the EU, I'll eat my hat.

That would only ever get broached if we were basically turning back into a developing country. Oh wait

Did you know? 98.0000001% of people are morons.
